A Cthulu Mythos story written by Frank Belknap Long and probably one of my favorite stories not written by Lovecraft himself. Thought I'd share it with my fellow Lovecraft fans who may not have heard it before.
On a somewhat unrelated note, I realized I haven't released anything in a while, but I have been working on my short story and thankfully I've just started the last chapter. Should be out some time soon hopefully. Anyhow, that's about it.
I should get around to reading that story at some point, given that the eponymous hounds are my go-to example of how Mythos entities work and how truly alien they can get. But it'll need to be actually reading it rather than the thing you linked, because broken sound card.

Ah, that's a shame. In my opinion with his voice, the narrator was basically made to read gothic horror stories.
The hounds are a spectacular example of something inspired by, or coexisting in the Lovecraftian Mythos.
As entities that come after you after you trespass in dimensions and times you were not meant to, they're not really written as antagonists. More like the natural consequences of your actions.
It’s a lot like the Langoliers in a way. You went where you weren’t supposed to. You run into these things that exist to perform a task that you’ll never fully understand. And once you gain their attention, there’s not really much you can do to get away. At least there was a way to escape the Langoliers. The hounds will find you no matter where or when you go.

That's more or less the idea behind the new story I'm writing and as I was writing it I thought of this and realized that in a way my story wound up directly inspired by The Hounds of Tindalos.
