So, I decided to come back. · 8:27am Jan 28th, 2020
Couple years late, yeah?
Well I came back.
So, here's a little snippet for what's happened the last few years. I finished school, got kicked out of the house, got a job, got fired, got another job that paid a little better but was completely shite, worked my way up to my own apartment and stuff.
That was about 2017. I didn't come back immediately because I had lost all enthusiasm for a time. I had forgotten all of what I had planned for my stories, so I couldn't even keep up with what I was going to do with them. When I read the stuff on the front page, I didn't find any joy in reading them anymore.
I decided to take a little break. About December last year, I got an itch to go exploring for things I once had filled my life with. Turns out, I found myself back here before long. I spent a little time reading up in my past time, finding out what I had missed in my time gone, and realized that I had just about fucking missed everything.
Little secret of mine, still haven't watched past season three or four. Don't remember exactly which one it was, but yeah, I'm about five or six seasons behind in all of the things I've seen on here. Don't know if I'll ever watch the show again. I've done a lot of growing and the idea of sitting down and watching TV again like I used to doesn't appeal to me much more.
I enjoy the stories that everyone here creates, and while I tend to stick to the same characters that I knew from the show, I suppose I'll have to spend some time familiarizing myself with the new characters that came along. Still, I've got new ideas, and I've improved my writing style a lot over the last four years or so.
Then I did a bit of self reflection and read the stories that I had written. Dear God... I don't like to use the word cringe, but that's what the writing feels like, reading back through it... So here's the deal, I'm going to take a little time rewriting this story, fixing up each chapter as I go along, and then when I fix up my main squeeze, I'll switch over to my side bitches projects.
I have about two or three stories that I started writing when I did get back, two of them sitting at one hundred thousand words and another that's sitting at about double that and some change. I'll upload them when I get done with EOS. Not all at one time, mind you. It'd be a flood of info that I doubt many people would be able to read in the coming weeks, but I work fast.
Some of my works will also branch out into different subject matters instead of creating the same generic story where a human comes to Equestria to save it. Doesn't really seem fun to read the same story, over and over again, and ending with a happily ever after, yeah? Doesn't matter if you change the words and write in different characters, it always comes down to brass tacks and beating the shit out of some overpowered person by becoming overpowered themselves. So I'll play with a few styles of stories, work in some slice of life stories, some stories that take a spin on the whole overpowered human trope, and some stories that won't have humans in it.
...I don't know about that one, but I can certainly try. At least until I find myself stuck in another hole and I have to disappear for another year or two. Anyway, I've worked on the first chapter already, so I suggest you read it and tell me how you enjoy the new writing style, or if you want me to continue writing in that style.
it's good to see you return, wish to see you start writing again soon, would say more and make a great quote but a lack of thoughts, sleep from third shift job is zapping me of the brain power. anyways welcome back, i'm sure more will say the same thing.
I was wandering when you'd be back man.
