Content that doesn't fit. · 3:34am Jan 28th, 2020
Anyone familiar with my writing knows I develop backstories for everyone and everything in the story. Sometimes it feels right including this content in the actual story, sometimes it just doesn't fit, and sometimes I push things in anyway. This is content that I just don't have a place to fit in Quantum Leap Forward. The backstory behind Silver Spoon teaching, and her relationship with Twist.
Silver Spoon did end up going to business school in Manehatten. She did fairly well in her classes, and while she was there she realized that her constant hanging around Diamond Tiara was actually a bit more than merely wanting Diamond's friendship. She worked up the courage to confess her love to Diamond, and then got her heart broken when it turned out that Diamond just wasn't into mares. This made even being in Manehatten uncomfortable for her, and she abruptly quit school and returned to Ponyville.
She then started trying to reconnect with old friends, the CMC and Twist. Silver Spoon's family was unhappy she quit the expensive private school they'd been paying for her to attend, and told her that she could visit home, but couldn't move back in until she had a steady job and direction for her future. Silver found she was disinterested in working for her parents' company, and found little that really interested her in business, despite how well she had done at the school before quitting. She had been there mainly because of Diamond, and now that Diamond was not something she could have, she lost interest in business.
Twist let her crash at her place while she was sorting herself out. The CMC saw she wasn't working and needed work, so they vouched for her being a substitute teacher at the School of Friendship. She quickly found she actually enjoyed it, and took on an apprenticeship at the elementary school.
By this point, Twist was actually starting to realize that she had feelings for Silver Spoon, and was unaware of what exactly had transpired between Silver and Diamond. Twist was also more cautious than Silver about confessing such things to someone who might not even be into mares.
Twist had just been promoted to business partner, rather than employee, to Bon Bon, and was good friends with Bon Bon and Lyra. So she turned to them for advice. After listening to them, she started dropping subtle hints over time to Silver that she was into mares, which became increasingly less subtle. Silver took a long time before she picked up on the hints, and because it was taking so long Twist was starting to get the impression Silver was straight, and as a result, started backing off.
Silver noticed Twist suddenly starting to distance herself, and asked Twist why she was suddenly getting distant. Twist sheepishly confessed that she had a crush on Silver Spoon, but felt that she might mess up her friendship with Silver if she let that crush get in the way. Silver was shocked, as it never occurred to her after her disappointment with Diamond that another mare might be harboring feelings for her. She then told Twist about what had happened in Manehatten with Diamond, and spent an evening crying on Twist's shoulder. The emotional comfort progressed to physical comfort and the next thing they knew they were making out on Twist's couch. They then started dating after that, and after a few years of dating Twist proposed.
Silver did eventually reconnect her friendship with Diamond, as they both found the previous confession of love less awkward and something to laugh about now that Silver was happily with Twist.
I intend to drop additional content extras from time to time, if they don't fit into the story. If anyone ever wants a backstory on anything in this story, or any of my others, feel free to ask.
That sounds emotional and cute.
That actually sounds pretty cool and would be an interesting side story
nice.
