Shadow Knight Update 01-19-2020 · 8:25pm Jan 19th, 2020
Good afternoon, all!
It's been a while since my last update. My work schedule turned a bit screwy and I didn't have a better chance to post any progress. However, despite the insanity at my job, whenever I was home, I was still progressing and meeting my daily writing goals. I'm going to try a slightly different format for these updates. Going forward if I'm just giving everyone a progress update look for "Shadow Knight Update and the date" in the blog subject line. If it's something being posted, like I've done before, the story in question will show up in the subject line along with the chapter or part number. If it's a new story, then I will include that it's something new in the blog subject. Any other blogs will just be simple and I'm actually considering just doing some random facts or sharing favorite characters or moments from the series and also hoping all of you will share your thoughts and experiences. Just a thought.
Okay, on to the update.
January 2020 Line up Progress:
“A Misty Hearth's Warming” – Part 3 - is currently editing. It should be ready to post next weekend. Things slowed down a little as I'm trying to make sure this story doesn't feel rushed or lose any of its creative spark.
“A Total Eclipse of Their Hearts” – Chapter 18 - Is currently drafting and about 50% complete, was working out a few details on the last half of the chapter, I want it to be good. Now I just need to finish drafting and edit. Still planning on completion before January is over.
“The Sparkle In His Soul” – Chapter 8 - Is currently drafting and about 90% complete, working out a few details with the last two scenes. But so far this chapter is going great. The majority of the chapter was drafted in about 8 days. This chapter is a turning point, so I want to give it plenty of care.
Going Forward February 2020 and Beyond:
I'm hoping to continue with more of Mistybelle's story "A Misty Hearth's Warming" and I'm going to update "Then There Was You" and hopefully "For Whom She Sparkles" as well. As I mentioned in a previous blog, I don't want to risk any story going too long without an update. I did some new projects and now I want to resume work on my active and ongoing stories. There may be a new story here and there, especially with my 8 year Anniversary fast approaching in March 2020, but I don't want to forget my core stories either.
Just to note, "You Brighten My Day" still hasn't been updated. But it's not for lack of inspiration. I don't want to pull my focus too thin. Right now I have four stories I'm trying to drive home. I don't want to exceed that, aside from maybe something short. So for now, Celestia's story will stay active but await my full attention.
Cherish Heart (Button's Mom) her story "Since You Came Along" is going to be put into "On Hiatus" status temporarily. The story doesn't seem to be drawing in many readers, and while I enjoy working on it. I'd rather focus on stories I keep getting asked for updates on. The story will continue, just not for some time, hence the status change.
Site Anniversary Coming in March 2020:
Can you believe it's been nearly 8 years since I came to the site and started sharing my MLP fanfiction? I know, I can hardly believe it either! 8 years, 30 stories, several pending, and hundreds of blogs. So many memories, new friends, readers and currently 2,019 followers!!! That's incredible! I can't thank all of you enough. And I will be making a big deal of this. My plan is to enjoy this year's anniversary right into next year's in March 2021. Keep an eye on my blogs for details and updates.

It's good hearing from you too. No worries, if I have to push anything back for quality concerns, I'll do it without hesitation. The good news is that two of my scheduled update releases just need edited now. Chapter 8 of "The Sparkle In His Soul" is now drafted and just needs edited.
