“I’m not going down to New York to watch a stupid sparkly ball drop! If you want the experience, I’ll throw you in a dark room and toss a notebook at you!” ~My father

So, of course, I grabbed my unsuspecting 7-year-old brother, put him in my room, shined a flashlight on the ceiling, and tossed my Spanish notebook at him.

What did you expect?

Yes, he thought it was funny, he was squealing and giggling his way to his bedroom.

I’m kinda excited that I just beat Super Mario Odyssey. It took me a whole 6 days to do. I don’t know if I’ve just gotten good with a decade of experience or if it’s really that easy, so if you’ve played it, tell me how long it took for you to get to the Mushroom Kingdom without cheats. I actually had fun playing it, and despite it being super quick to beat, it was still challenging.

But I’m not a reviewer, I’m an opinionated insomniac. And what kind of Twilight Glimmer blog post only covers one thing?

You know, lately, I’ve been cutting these posts short because I decided I should tackle them while I was thinking straight. Then I realized that the reason a lot of you are here in the first place is that I can’t think straight. Most of what people call my ‘masterpieces’ were written in 3 hours or less, which includes blog posts.

Which reminds me of a story.

Last May, I had a presentation on a topic that I knew nobody but me really cares about (How sibling relationships impact a child’s life, or something like that). And I was going to end up flunking my final project of the year if I didn’t figure something out. Fast. I had one potential idea, but it required doing something that my principal wouldn’t allow, and she shut me down a week before it was due. So all of my planning now meant nothing. It was the day of the presentation, and I was still at square one. I spent the first half of the day freaking out, and the second half trying to put something together. I ended up going to one of my friends for help, and he agreed to play a part in the presentation. The teacher called my name, and my friend and I went up. I gave my friend his instructions in the hall. I told him to act like a spoiled toddler. He seemed thrilled at the idea. We went in and did the entire thing unscripted. I got an A on the assignment presentation, lots of laughs from my classmates, and a valuable lesson.

I need to stop procrastinating.

In all seriousness, I decided that, in 2020, I need to put my creativity to use more effectively, because it usually goes well. I’m not going with this “New Year, New Me” crap, because I’m still going to be the same satirical, stressed, jumbled teenage girl you’ve seen for the last year, but I’m going to be using it to my benefit.

Thank you, to everyone who read my random assortments of words in the English language in 2019, and I hope that you’ll stick around because I genuinely appreciate you being here. And with that, happy new year, have a wonderful evening, and peace out!

Happy New Years

Happy New Year, Twilight!

I’m kinda excited that I just beat Super Mario Odyssey. It took me a whole 6 days to do. It took me approximately the same amount of time.....the game is pretty easy. But then you can run around and explore and try to get all the moons. There's way more to do after you beat Bowser.
Happy new year, Twilight! Hope you have a great 2020!
(Who am I kidding. It's election year....)
