Little Green Options · 6:50pm Nov 6th, 2019
Something I've been contemplating and still am. Thought I would get a bit of feedback on it.
Years ago, I created a next gen OC, Little Green Apple, who is the daughter of Soarin and Applejack (stories involving her can be found here and here for those interested, and a picture below)
In The Last Problem, there was an implication that Rainbow Dash and Applejack were in a relationship.
This got me thinking about Little Green, and the possibility of changing her history a little.
While it mainly comes down to two major choices, I thought of a few more, and decided to include them.
- I keep things as it is. That means that I ignore the implication of Appledash, and keep Applejack and Soarin together as a happily married couple.
- I have Rainbow Dash and Applejack become a couple. Soarin is still the father, but it was more of a sperm donor type of deal. Although he does still have a parent-child relationship with Little Green, she lives primarily with her two mothers.
- Full science! Soarin is still the father, and sperm donor, but the egg was from Rainbow Dash. However, for various reasons, Applejack was implanted with the result, and carried the child to term. Thus, Rainbow and Soarin are the biological parents, but AJ is the one who carried and gave birth.
- What Estee refers to as "The Most Special Spell." A spell which gives a mare male reproductive abilities, although only with X-chromosomes which ensure a filly. This eliminates Soarin from the equation completely, and makes Rainbow Dash the biological father.
So, those are the four possibilities I've considered (there was at least one other, but I did not like it). I thought I would get it out and get a feel for what some other people thought.
Let me know what you think in the comments.
Keep things as is. I always believe that as a general rule fanfiction is to explore other possibilities not covered in canon.
I like options 2 the best.
1 definitely
Pick three, for myself.
Yeah. I vote for keeping it as too. AJ and Dash are STRICTLY live-in friends with NO romantic relationship. That way, you get the best of both worlds, so to speak.
Times change, relationships change. Just because they were together at one point, doesn't mean that they stayed a couple all their lives. That's true whether the "they" is Applejack-Soarin or Applejack-Rainbow.
I always liked Applejack-Soarin, though. I felt it was an underexplored pairing, well done.
