Did I mention I'm doing NaNoWriMo? As I'm doing NaNoWriMo. · 9:32pm Nov 3rd, 2019
And I'm ... kind of on track?
See, I decided to have another go at an EARLIER NaNoWriMo attempt that kind of petered out after awhile. In fact, I think it was the project that I ran into a brick wall on back in 2016, which in turn inspired me to turn around and write The Prisoner of Zebra as a sort of low-stakes consolation ... thing. Which in turn became a big sprawling series that nobody pays attention to 'cause it's not Fallout: Equestria clopfic.
But yeah. Working on this project, I got about 2500 words in ... when I realized that the 'boring normal guy thrown into the supernatural' protagonist was ... well, boring. So I went back to the earlier draft that was told from the perspective of a different character (the cliche Urban Fantasy magic-cop-detective-type) and ... well, it works better. Huh.
So I've cheated a little and imported about 1000-ish words (maybe more?) of stuff from that original, incomplete draft. And, uh, I'll probably cannibalize more bits and pieces as I go on, but that's what writing's all about, isn't it? My ultimate goal is to get something punchy and adventuresome put together in a publish-able package. Could be novella length, or I might hit the full 50k ... which is still a short novel, but still. Progress? Maybe?
Stay tuned for the inevitable post where I run into a brick wall and lament my lack of talent and drive and stuff! Hopefully won't be for awhile yet.
But yeah. Any of y'all doing the National Write a Novel Thing too?
I am at ZERO for the month. (darned real world) And yes.
Simple solution: Write a Flash Sentry Chronicles Mature story where Flash and Golden spice up their bedroom antics by Golden dressing up a ghoul and Flash dressing up as a fascist.
