    Yes I am alive

Sorry I've been so absent as of late. My new project kinda absorbed me a bit :twilightsheepish: Actually, for the past year ever since I decided to write a Warriors fanfiction I couldn't really think about much else as far as writing is concerned, even right now.

    It's been 10 years!

Yeah, it's been 10 years since I've made an account on this website and published the first two chapters of Rebirth of the Damned, my first story (you can't tell now because back then when you would edit chapters and save them then it would overwrite the date of publication).

"This song is ending, but the story never ends." · 11:26pm Oct 27th, 2019

This quote in the title, which had been said in Doctor Who in the last episode of 10th Doctor run, was what first came to my mind after watching the last episode of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Obviously, partially because the show ended with a song, but mostly because I believe that it sums up pretty much how most of us here feel about Generation 4.

This show... well, suffice to say that for me personally had changed my life. I wouldn't be here, writing this blog post, if it hadn't been for this show. I wouldn't be writing my stories that you enjoy so much. And I've got to be honest, those stories and the fact that there are people reading them are pretty much about the only constructive thing I have going for me in my life :twilightsheepish:. Soo yeah, without them I would be probably spending my days solely on playing video games... In any case, I wanted to talk a bit about the show, now that it has finally ended (about 2 weeks ago :facehoof:).

I actually watched the episodes on livestream. Even though they all had leaked some time ago, I resisted watching them (although partially because a part of me didn't want to see the end :twilightsheepish: You know, because then it wouldn't end...), and wanted to watch them right, or rather, as close to right that I could, through livestream, together with a number of people who'd comment on stuff in chat. Just how I used to watch season 3-5 and again some episodes of 9th.

That ending was perfect in my opinion. A lot of people complained about Discord, but honestly, I could see the logic behind his actions. Twilight did need a boost in confidence, both seen in the season premiere and in the finale. Plus, this way, the threat those villains pose was finally extinguished, so we won't have to worry about them returning after x years later. Regardless, I think it's better that Mane6 had to face the familiar villains rather than some goat we've only just met, so I'm not disappointed that Grogar turned out to be Discord (which was one of the MANY things that had been spoiled to me by youtube suggestion and people writing blunt titles to the clips they posted there :ajbemused:).

(Also, that part with pegasi closing off the sky? I'm not sure if that was a nod to Fallout: Equestria, but if it was I loved it, and if it wasn't I found it hilarious.)

The epilogue... I gotta say, I'm not a big fan of epilogues, especially the ones that take place so much further in the future. You can thank Digimon Adventure 02 for that. But there are few ones that I like, and MLP's epilogue is among them. It was nice seeing who ended up with whom, to some degree at least. I'd imagine some people might be pissed at the shippings, I'd probably be too if they'd do something I would be strongly against... like Twilight x Flash Sentry. Although I came to tolerate that ship after stumbling upon Kilala's Next Gen and writing a story set in there, so who knows? Anyway, about those ships, about the only thing I wish they would have added into the epilogue is HOW those relationships happen?! I mean, HOW exactly did Applejack and Rainbow Dash decided to date?! (And yeah, I know this wasn't officially stated that they are an item, but humor me.) Or how did Fluttershy and Discord took things to that level?! And OH MY GOSH, can you IMAGINE what Pinkie's wedding must have looked like?! I WANNA SEE IT ALL!:raritycry: Oh well, hopefully we get some of that in this "season 10 comic series" they're going to make...

Also, funny thing about Applejack and Rainbow Dash getting together? (And no, I'm not talking about those drunk shenenigans they were up to in my story Rebirth of the Damned ;p) I've been suspecting since 4th season that Applejack was into mares... remember that episode with Rarity's crush number x, what was it, Tenderhoof? Near the end, when he says he wants to come to live on the farm, Applejack said: "Uh, look, you're a fine pony, but, uh, well, I'm, uh..." Well, it was probably my perverted mind's fault, but to me it always sorta sounded like she was going to say "I'm, um, a lesbian." Again, probably my mind, and it's not like they would have actually let a character say it on this show, but still, that was my headcanon since that episode, and it turned right! Although my headcanon for Rainbow in turn was that she and Twilight were secretly dating... When Celestia switched with Luna one of the dreams we saw was the two of them flying together, which I thought was weird, and then when Rainbow found out Scootaloo had went to meet her parents she said that she should have warned her or "talked to Twilight or something!". But admittedly, that could have been just that Twilight was the first pony that came to Rainbow's mind at that time, and the most obvious choice and stuff...

Fluttercord? Never really was a fan of this ship, but they are cute together.

That ending song? Sweet mother of mercy, that song still has me tearing up a little when I listen to it. It was the perfect way to end this show. Song just sorta always fitted for endings. Season 3, 4 and 5 all ended on a song, and tell me they don't make it seem like the show was about to end each time. (Actually, with season 3 we already knew that there would be Equestria Girls... and between that song and those trailers showing BRAD I was honestly afraid that they were going to have Twilight stay in that world with him, which would be SO CHEESY and AWFUL and STUPID way to end this show... so glad that it turned out to be just my paranoia...).

9 seasons. This show had lasted for 9 whole seasons. That's as long as How I Met Your Mother (with much more satisfying ending), MASH, only season behind Friends and Adventure Time. Honestly, how many cartoon shows last that long? I know that as far as Hasbro shows go ponies beat their best record back during season 4, right? But that's not even the most amazing thing about it show, but rather, it wouldn't have been possible without this most amazing thing: this fandom that it had created. True, there are some bad apples, every fandom has some toxic people in it, but personally I've mostly seen only the good ones. And would you just take a look at all those fanworks people from this fandom had created? All those stories, all those artworks, all those videos and songs? All came about because of a show about talking colourful ponies for little girls. This still makes me scratch my head every now and then. And I dearly hope that, even though the show is over, this fandom will continue on. I personally don't plan on quitting it, and I will most certainly finish my stories (one day).

This might not have been a well-constructed review of the last episodes or the show, buuut I mostly just wanted to share with you my thoughts and feelings regarding it. It's been a hell of a ride, with ponies and all of you.

^^I'm pretty much always around ;p

I don't think AJ and RD are an item. Main reason is their competiveness. The two are always butting heads to see who is better and I don't think that will mesh will with romance. Now, that being said, I love the fact that the show never came out and said they were dating or married. The same with Fluttershy and Discord. It left it open to interpretation and allows the fans to come up with their own conclusions. In my opinion they're good friends and nothing more. Someone else will see them as lovers. Is AJ a lesbian? I don't think she is, but others will see it differently, and that's ok. To each their own and I'm good with that... oh and Cheese and Pinkie's kid is adorable :rainbowkiss:
