Two for one! · 7:00am Oct 14th, 2019
Alright ladies and gentlemen, I'm here today to do TWO things.
1.) Test blogs and stuff as I'm still learning this website a bit.
2.) To say that after an aggravating period of inactivity that I shall here soon (hopefully) get back to working on 'The Storms of The Divide', in earnest I mean.
To make and overlong story overshort my time has been spent helping family members move into a new house, and my times of rest have been spent more in respite as moving box after box after box after... you get the point I hope, has made my artistic passions and muse just as exausted as my muscles and bones.
SO... once again hopefully I can chisel out Chapter 11 and submit sometime soon and get the ball of story rolling again, as I do NOT want to let this story that’s lodged into my skull to fade away into obscurity.
Aaaand... I guess that's it then. Have a good one!
Yeah for new chapters!
If I may... maybe it's just me but maybe you should tone down the length of your chapters a bit. I know I'm one to talk, but having chapters vary from 7k to 30k words in length can be a bit annoying, and 10k words is already a bit long for a chapter. Some of them could be cut in half to create more chapters and make it a bit more 'palatable' to readers. Shorter chapters, consistent length, you know what you're getting into when you start one, and reading a single chapter doesn't go into binge territory.
I'll add something I do: I usually produce more text than I publish each week. The extra goes into buffer chapters I can build up so I can just stop writing for a few weeks --checks buffer store- correction: months, whenever I need to. And the update schedule isn't even harmed by me lazing off.
Have a nice day,
MM

Thank you for being interested and giving me advice! However as much as I will try to condense it I cannot guarantee I'll actually make a dent with my writing style or desire to keep chapters somewhat self contained chunks... like the 21k and 30k Chapters of 7 and 8 (which I admittedly just kept writing in what felt like a frenzy...)
I guess that's my own issue though as personally I'm a binge reader, at least when a book grabs my attention on the rare occasion, so I write like one as I've discovered...
