Correcting the Critics #2: "Save MLP"

It's been a while since I did my last part in the series. But recently, I saw something that encouraged this installment. A tweet pointing out what someone said 10 months prior. On November 25th 2022, Fluttercheer made a blog post on this site about Save MLP and sent a message about how supporters of that

ChatGPT came up with AU fanfic ideas

I'd say that the title of this blog post says it all, but I'd be lying. I'm not the type who would rely on ChatGPT. But I would certainly consider it once in a while and would most definitely recommend it, especially if you have writer's block.

Some of these ideas I may use sometime. Or anyone reading this blog can use them for their own inspiration.

Correcting the Critics #1: "Why Couldn't MLP been more epic?"

I've chosen to begin a new blog series where I look at the claims of trolls, haters, and ignorant people and pick apart their claims. I can't promise how regular or frequent this series will be. But I wanted to make a proper series with a straight-to-the-point name. In this series, I will also avoid actually posting any links or saying names. I don't want to give the people or groups any

Reviewing Mykan's Review of Growing Up is Hard To Do · 9:59am Oct 13th, 2019

In my last blog post, I reviewed Mykan's review of the series finale, and showing off how much of a jerk he is. But I mentioned I wanted to review two of his reviews specifically. In the last one, I proved he was a jerk. But this review, I show off just how much I love getting revenge on people like him. And I'm doing it in the most insulting way I can think of... High praise.

That's right. When I saw his review of this episode, I was dumbfounded at how highly he thought of the episode. Previously, the highest rating he gave an episode was 9/10 (before the Yu-Gi-Oh point system). And that was for A Royal Problem (that's also how I learned he has a crush on Celestia). Convert that into the Yu-Gi-Oh system, and that's 7200 points out of 8000. I did the math for the final score on this episode. But I'll save that for the end.

Mykan's original review can be found here.

(Growing Up is Hard To Do)

Yes, it certainly is... especially if you don't like what comes with it.

LP: 8000

Growing old is inevitable. Growing up is optional.
[LP = 8000]

Heh-heh-heh! Like I keep telling people, event he best thought out plans can go awry.
(The Core: 2003) "The core is an engine! Throw a tiny wrench into a large engine and you can still stall it."
-No damage

You're right. I don't recall it being implied otherwise, but you're right.

I can't believe it, I just don't believe it. The ponies are finally teaching LEGITIMATE LESSONS about priorities, obligations, and responsibilities. If only they'd do that more often instead of going about all this friendship nonsense we might have gotten along better.
-No damage

They've always taught legitimate lessons. You've just never noticed them personally because you focus on the wrong things. Not all the lessons apply all the time, or to everyone. But if you can take something from the show, it shows that there's something for everyone.

Or perhaps the fact that you can get something of value out of an episode demonstrates character growth on your part.

Wow! Even Twilight agrees with me while everyone else keeps scoffing at the facts of life (and this doesn't happen every day)
"Grown ups can do lots of things children can't, shouldn't do, but the many obligations and responsiibltiies that COME with growing up can get in the way of things."
Amazing...
-No damage

Mykan agreeing with Twilight and not deducting any points? ...Did I just see a pig fly by my window?

Much as I've always wanted to see the girls grown up... why are Scootaloo's wings still puny?
-No damage.
(So far this ep aint so bad)

Because it was implied a while back that she probably wouldn't fly. This just explains why. Her wings just didn't develop properly and she has a physical disability.

Forget it girls, being big doesn't excuse mistakes. People expect/demand you make FEWER mistakes, and expect/demand you to know better.
-200 for ignorance.
LP: 8000 -----> 7800

I'll agree that it's expected. I'll concede that there are some who demand it. But the ones who demand it are part of a toxic mindset. But I still agree, so No Damage.

Heh-heh-heh... this old Cliche, you think you have it all thought out and it falls flat on your face.
-No damage

Well, it's less of a cliche, and more that it's just how children think.

Well well, only 200 points, this is highest ranking episode ever, and mainly becuase they taught PROPER LESSONS ABOUT REALITY instead of Friendship.
Very well... I place this episode at #1
FINAL SCORE: 7800

I didn't give any deductions to you. But I will take off 200 points because. I could've deducted more points than you did. And that's saying something.
-200
[8000 > 7800]

Still, there's a lot about growing up that I hate, and what little or nothing to do with, so I chucked it out, and even if I have to do them, that doesn't mean I'm happy, proud, nor should be. (They're things I don't like or approve of, why should I be happy about that?)

I don't know. This review suggests that you demonstrated character growth. The fact that you didn't deduct points from Twilight just for existing shows that you're growing up a little. It seems that you've demonstrated change. I'm completely proud of the fact that you're finally growing into an adult.

Well done, Mykan. You've earned my praise.

As I mentioned before, I've done the math. And a score of 7800/8000 converts to a 9.75/10.

Value and Interest are completely different things.

I'll agree that it's expected. I'll concede that there are some who demand it. But the ones who demand it are part of a toxic mindset. But I still agree, so No Damage.

Like that good-for-nothing spammer who keeps shitting on my FF account every day, every time I post, tweet, or upload, demanding I "Change" or "Improve" or "Do as he/you says"

Well, it's less of a cliche, and more that it's just how children think.

But Twilight and the others are not children, and their plans usually fall flat all the time (They do something WRONG before they do something RIGHT)

This review suggests that you demonstrated character growth.

And I am ashamed of it, and there will be punishment if proper order isn't maintained.

Well done, Mykan. You've earned my praise.

Big deal! I don't want it.

Value and Interest are completely different things.

I agree that they have different definitions. But they are not mutually exclusive.

But Twilight and the others are not children, and their plans usually fall flat all the time (They do something WRONG before they do something RIGHT)

But I wasn't talking about Twilight and the others, I was talking about children.

Big deal! I don't want it.

That's the point.
