So I watched the finale tonight...and boy oh boy was it underwhelming and disappointing. The first two parts were underwhelming in my opinion, because by this point, it feels like, "Oh no...Equestria is threaten...again...by not one villain of the week...but by THREE villains of the week. What will the Mane 6 do now?" And...I don't know what to say.
Discord being in disguise as Groger felt retarded, as I felt like there was potential with that being a real thing.
This whole thing feels like it's been done over and over before with Seasons 4, 6, 8, and the beginning of 9. And those did it better. I didn't feel invested with the whole trio of villains because...I don't know...I guess it's because they dragged it out for so long and it just kind of sat there and did nothing. Like that one Chrysalis episode in Season 8 where she made those copies of the Mane 6...it's like what the fuck was the point? I feel like they hyped it up at Comic Con as this big deal, but it was just a big nothing burger. Same thing here...
And that weird voice thing with that filly/colt. Like...was it a filly or a colt? Because that voice with the little Pegasus confused the hell out of me. Was that intentional or were they have production issues so they went with that? Like...what was that bit? I'm so confused.
And that whole fight at the end...like i said...Season 4's end did it better. And this is supposed to be the big one apparently.
And of course...the last episode where it shows "Many Moons Later..." My god...I don't know what to be more scared by. The older versions of the Mane 6, a big beefy boi Spike, or the alicorn version that looks like a recolored/slightly modified Celestia model, of Twilight... Like that alicorn baby was the anti-christ., but one of those things are the devil himself, and I can't tell anymore...I don't know anymore...what is this anymore...what is life anymore....what...when...how?........
But the song was nice and the little touch with the book closing was cute, although, I don't feel like it deserved that. I like the idea, but the episode didn't deserve that little book closing thing...
I know I sound harsh, but that's just my general opinion, and if you liked it, then i'm glad you did...because I can't see the good in this. But if you did, that's great. I just feel like by this point, with S9 and maybe 8....it kind of lost it's identity somewhat...and I just look back on Season 1 and 2, 3, and some in 4 and feel like that is more or less what Faust was doing. But after 4, it felt like they went into a whole completely different direction, especially with the introduction to the castle and it was alright, but the more they did, the more it felt like they were getting off track. And by Season 8, it really felt like that.
Like Season 1-4, (Except 4 a little bit, but I'll lump it in there...) what MLP and the Bronies were all about back in the day. Seasons 5-7 Ok...I guess...this is when Hasbro just started taking over and demanding characters to be added and things to change so they can sell more toys and to be made more cheaply. Because that fucking Cantorlot Castle change after 7, I ain't fucking forgetting that shit. And 8-9...I don't even know anymore.
I mean I still enjoyed my time with it...but...damn...what happened?...What happened to us? We were on top of our game in 2011-2013. We had something going and...now it turned into all of this?...
I don't know...
Welp...I'm hearing of a sequel movie for 2021, but I don't know for sure, we'll just have to wait I guess if is true. And if it is...then that would explain the scuffed ending that we got. And if not..well that sucks...
And also here is to the upcoming G5...may it have good clop on here, and may it be half decent at least... because I saw the little thing that they had...and it doesn't look too pleasing...to me at least, but we'll see...
