My Little Pony Season 9 News 10/11/2019 · 11:42am Oct 11th, 2019

We are one big family, spreading love and harmony!

GOOD MORNING, FIMFICTION FANATICS!!! This is the Dramamaster829; Critic, Actor, Writer, Motivational Speaker, and Occasional Singer, keeping you up to date with the latest news for the final season of MLP! Well folks, as of tomorrow, the inevitable truth is bound to happen: The end of an era for 'My Little Pony' is coming as the television run of one of the most popular series on television comes to an end. 9 seasons, two-hundred something episodes, a spin-off series, a theatrical feature, a holiday special, and even a couple spin-off movies, it all comes down to the ending of all endings where the greatest challenge for our favorite six ponies, and a baby dragon. This finale has been one of the most talked about expected moments within the series... One that has nearly been spoiled due to a massive leakage.

Now we all don't want shows like this to come to an end nor do we want to say goodbye, if anything we'd all say that we'd rather go back to 'page one' and do it all over again. But as a certain narrator once said in an otherwise equally popular franchise, 'All stories have to end'. Of course I have heard these ongoing rumors that they are releasing a new stream of comic books under the 'Season 10' label, but whether this is just a marketing campaign to make people buy their products and make more money... Or if this is legit news as these comics could possibly consist of stories they otherwise couldn't air on television, any of which remains to be seen. I personally have never read 'any' of the comics myself, preferring to see their stories as their own separate canon as opposed to the television run despite the constant debate that these stories deserve to hold the same place as the television series. But that's always been the thing about FIM or this entire fandom in general: This has been among one of the most 'passionate' fandoms I've ever been part of, which I honestly never imagined could happen.

But at this point, I know I'm rambling long enough and you all want to know what I think about the finale before it's supposed to air (I'll get to the part of the leak later). Now even though we technically have a two-part episode and one episode following after, this blog is going to be a 'little' different than the kind I've posted over the past few months. Rather than going over one episode at a time or do the two-parter first, I think to best understand all three episodes is to see them as a whole. Which is why starting today, I'll be covering all three episodes under one blog post for my fellow readers who took the time to have a glance at these blogs. Without further ado, we prepare to cover a total 90-minute series finale with the three episodes appropriately titled:

The Ending of the End

And...

The Last Problem

Now as a brief word on the leak, avoiding these episodes until tomorrow has been a pain in the ass already. So if you please, for my sanity as well as everyone else who decided to wait before seeing these episodes:

NO SPOILERS!!!!

Thank you again, Miss Rarity.

You're welcome... Dramamaster.

*Pause, clears throat* Ahem... Let's get going... DAMN IT, WILL SOMEBODY STOP CHOPPING ONIONS BACK THERE!

Anyways, as far as this 90 minute series finale is concerned, we begin with 'The Ending of the End' (Which putting this together I realize is an oxymoron) when a villainous alliance make their move and unleashes their unified might against Equestria. It is here where it is up to the Mane Six to put all their skills they've learned over the years as they meet the toughest test of their lives. Then, years from now, Princess Twilight Sparkle is visited by a student with a friendship problem (Which also leads to the assumption that things turn out fine for Equestria, but come on we all know how these two parters go anyway). As Princess Twilight attempts to solve this problem, she reflects on the times she and the Mane Six spent together or more appropriately the 'last' time she ever spent with her best friends. All and all, this leads to one theme that's been the driving force for one pony: That Twilight Sparkle fully embraces her role and becomes the princess she was always meant to be.

Now up until this massive leak which some jerk foolishly released to the public (Thereby depriving our audience a fresh surprise for this upcoming day tomorrow), all I can say going into this finale spoiler-free is that everything Grogar has put together, assembling the three dangerous villains in Equestria, and putting their skills against the Mane Six will soon come into play. While we don't often get to see the villains at work except for a few episodes Grogar has gone into this plan thinking that what works fro Twilight and her friends can work just the same for these villains. As we've also seen, Lord Tirek, Chrysalis and Cozy Glow have all been plotting a mutiny against Grogar given that they are villains, of course, and they don't trust Grogar's motivations if he ever had anything to share at all. Going into this finale, there's going to be more chaos than anything Discord could ever imagine and so big that we even see the Pillars of Old Equestria coming into play as the fate of an entire world is at stake. We can only assume that somehow our heroes will find a way to overcome the odds and defeat an ancient evil, but at this point the tensions building up for this moment are big.

Which again ties to the theme of Twilight Sparkle fully embracing her role as the new ruler of Equestria, but this news stems BEYOND Celestia & Luna's announcement of retirement. When the show was first assembled by Lauren Faust, known for her work with "Powerpuff Girls" (The original), "Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends" and even the recently released "DC Superhero Girls", one of the concepts that Lauren Faust has always planned was having Twilight Sparkle take her mentors' place and rule over Equestria. Looking back on the two hundred episode journey of this one pony, she was just a run-of-the-mill unicorn and dedicated student who preferred her studies over friendship, suddenly makes friends with five unique girls who'd help her save the day, then her following actions eventually grant her the title of princess, she reformed 'many' villains over the series (Although at least a handful of her friends did the same), owned her own castle, ran a school for all walks of life, and barely managed to keep her sanity together in an otherwise stressful situation. For all the times we've seen Twilight Sparkle grow throughout the entire series, from the triumphs she's held to all the questionable situations that's left fans split, the journey of Twilight Sparkle herself would never go where it sets off for today had it not been for all the friends she's made and the ones who've stood by her side since Day One. It's no wonder why this finale is a bittersweet ending for many fans going into tomorrow, knowing how much they've connected with the journey of these remarkable ponies, how much they relate to their problems and how in the end this series proves that just because they are pastel-colored ponies with marks on their butt it doesn't mean we can't turn something cute for children and create 'art' for a worldwide audience.

Now in regards to endings for me, I should say the one big regret I have going into tomorrow is how late I was starting these blogs or even reviewing MLP in general. While I never really considered myself a Brony growing up, hardly ever attending MLP related cons or wearing any of the merchandise, since the day I was first introduced to FIM I never realized that I was going into a show that would attempt to do what no other MLP programs ever had the motivation to accomplish (That says a lot growing up at a time when 'My Little Pony Tales' used to be on the air). I would not only be invested in the journey of a group of friends solving many friendship problems or fighting the occasional monster of the week, but I'd find myself engrossed with the fandom's most popular fanfic concepts, watching my favorite MLP related fan videos (Sometimes 'on loop'), find myself singing to some of my favorite songs they put together or even had that one voice role in a project which turned out to be a fun experience (A fan series that did mix ponies and humans together, but that's another story). I know I have been implying that I'm already prepared for the show to end and that I would be content when eventually it's all over, but the truth of the matter is: It only hides the fact that I really am going to miss the show in more ways than even I would ever admit even as a guy putting this one blog together. I know I may not always get my reviews up as I did when I started (The constant delays have been a real stress factor on my creative drive), I may not always agree with the arguments over certain decisions and I may see things in the fandom a little different than the average person who spends most of their time on here, but throughout this entire journey in the 9 years this show has been released... It's been one hell of a ride and I look forward to how it all ends.

But the bigger question still remains: What do YOU think? Be sure to leave a comment below at your earliest convenience.

Until then faithful readers, this is the Dramamaster829... And in case this is truly the end of 'Friendship is Magic'...

Good afternoon... Good evening... And goodbye.
