Random Bits of Advice I've Gotten This Week · 10:15pm Oct 4th, 2019
Good Morning from my Robotics Lab! This is Shadow_8472, and today, I just want to situation update. Not much happened writing wise on my end this week, but Let's get started anyway!
A Tale of Two Worlds will be getting an update to the prologue, but then I will be putting the whole project aside for a while. It may be six months, it may be a year. I want the story to be good, and some brutal chat sessions on the site Discord have convinced me I should only go back and retouch things when I'm done. Again, I want this story to be good, but I don't want it left totally untold. I want to come back to this story. Speaking of which, I'm so relieved to have finished the first major story arc. It was my goal to finish the whole story before the show canon officially closed, but this was a much more reasonable goal.
In other news, I read a new story by Sock Puppet called Destroyed in a Flurry. It was fun seeing bits and pieces I had previewed as part of giving feedback. It also got me thinking: My attitude for getting help with chapter 6 was more or less to comb through it with everyone, and that wasn't what Puppet did. In the future, I think I want to just write up a first draft, proofread it myself, commenting on parts that REALLY need help, and focusing on those parts first before inviting people to preview the whole thing.
Final Question: In other other news, I like the idea of doing all my own cover art. Unfortunately, there isn't a lot of activity these days on the major art group for self-improvement, and there aren't many others. What are the other major options, even if it involves going outside FimFiction?
