26th Favorite Video Made by a Brony or Pegasister (Plus, a New Announcement) · 3:22pm Oct 3rd, 2019

For my 280th blog post for this sight, I decided to show you guys another video that I really enjoy seeing every now and then.

In this video, which is made by the world renowned DisneyFanatic2364, the villainous Grogar leads the Legion of Doom in his own rendition of "Be Prepared", from the 2019 version of Disney's "The Lion King". The clips of the video are taken from MLP's "The Beginning of the End" and "Frenemies".

In all honesty, I haven't seen the film itself yet, and I'm interested in it despite having learned of the negative feedback it got and the low expectations I have for it. However, I've been finding myself really enjoying this version of "Be Prepared", having been listening to its soundtrack version on YouTube. I know it's rather short compared to the version from the animated film, but I admired the anthem-like rhythm and darker vibe it has, and Chiwetel Ejiofer did a great job carrying it. I've definitely become interested in seeing the film because of him, that's for sure.

When I discovered this video a while back, I couldn't help but find myself falling in love with the execution of it all and how organized everything was for just the right time. I thought that Grogar fit the role of Scar perfectly for this video, and Chrysalis, Tirek, and Cozy Glow were definitely fun to watch in the roles of the hyenas.

Take a look and you'll see what I mean:

Before I conclude this post, I'd like to make an announcement.

Having grown tired of not being able to find any other way to have artworks to serve as the front covers of my stories, I decided to try my own hand at drawing and creating cover art. I bought an iPad app called ProCreate, which I was inspired to buy after seeing a video by YouTube celebrity Brian Hull, who drew pictures of his own characters before coming up with voices for them. I loved how professional his pictures looked, and when I heard that the app can make any kind of drawing a person makes look that way, I decided to buy it.

However, I quickly found that I have a long way to go in order to get the hang of it. I have to figure out how and what to do in order to make my drawings, and find the right tools to make the pictures, such as a pen for iPad.

It'll definitely take a while, but I think it's a lot better than trying to get someone else to do artwork for you. Especially since they'd apparently want to be paid for it in return.

So, what do you guys think of what I showed you all here?

Dang! "Be Prepared" got WAY dark. :twilightoops:

Especially since they'd apparently want to be paid for it in return.

I'm sorry...you lost me here.:rainbowderp:

Please explain to me, to the best of your ability: what is the problem with someone asking for a form compensation when you ask them to perform a task for your benefit?

You mean besides the fact that he probably can't provide compensation? I mean, I understand your problem with people asking for free art since I have a friend who is an artist, but I'm sure AMU didn't mean anything offensive by asking for free cover art.

I would prefer to assume that he meant no offense but the choice to add what looks like extra snark after saying he'll just do his own cover art; but in the moment I honestly question it.

To be fair: I can admit bias in favor of artists who take requests by commission. I'd open myself for commission work if I needed the extra cash to get to the end of the week:twilightblush:

I am a big fan of Procreate myself, so I hope learning all its tricks goes well  You... probably do want an Apple Pencil, though, if you can get one—pressure sensitivity is something you could maaaybe do without if you really wanted to, but its absence makes for a pretty miserable drawing experience, in my opinion.

I once sent out a notice that I was looking for someone who could do artwork for my stories. However, it was only too late that I discovered that whoever would help me would want to be paid for the work in return, and I don’t know how to pay them via the internet.

Ah. I can see that:twilightblush:
