My Little Pony Season 9 News 09/20/2019 · 9:13pm Sep 20th, 2019

Don't ask... Just, don't ask.

GOOD AFTERNOON, FIMFICTION FANATICS!!! This is the Dramamaster829; Critic, Actor, Writer, Motivational Speaker, and Occasional Singer, keeping you up to date with the latest news for the final season of MLP! First off, to get a matter of business aside, I'd like to apologize for how late it was getting this posted today (I know a lot of fans are asking why I haven't blogged any additional reviews, but that's another story). As far as my case for today's preview blog, I had a bit of computer problems this morning that understandably slowed me down. The fact I even got this blog up this late is a miracle onto itself.

But we're not here today to discuss computer issues, oh hell no that is not how the Dramamaster rolls. No, today we are here to discuss a 'particular' issue involving some 'closing' episodes that are set to take place this season. Believe me when I say MLP fans we've had quite a few of them, some with satisfying closure and others, well... That's all a matter of interpretation. Today, we're looking at an end to a series of adventures of an MLP character that initially was fictional even in this world but it turns out that not everything was as the 'mane' cast believed. And speaking of unbelievable things, we're here to see what surprises are in store for tomorrow as we take a look at the episode entitled:

Daring Doubt

Now I know this episode was released early, for dumb reasons mind you, but I humbly ask for this one favor from everybody:

NO SPOILERS!!!

Thank you, Rarity.

You're welcome, darling.

On this episode, a new author starts releasing his own version of events based on A.K. Yearling's Daring Do books, and for those who haven't been keeping track, A.K. Yearling, the world famous yet reclusive author, was but an alias for the daring adventurer whose escapades make up her books (Unless it should be the other way around, you decide). Understandably, Rainbow Dash is furious probably not because her hero might've lied all this time but she thinks this author wants to spoil the Daring Do legacy and is only spreading 'lies' to ruin the author's reputation. Now 'Fluttershy', on the other hand, she's actually curious enough to discover the truth to also decide who among the two authors has been lying. And yet that leaves just one more question: Who would want to hurt A.K. Yearling's credibility and Daring Do in general so badly, that they start their writing their own accounts? Now I am not one of those guys who decided to see the episode early, but it really only comes down to her one rival who hates Do so much that he's constantly tried to one-up her:

Dr. Caballeron (Though a Doctor of 'what', that's debatable), Daring Do's bitter rival who was introduced WAY BACK in Season 4 (Back when Daring Do was an 'I work alone' pony... Looking back, she was kind of a jerk). It's ironic when you think about it because initially Caballeron wanted to work for Daring Do, to be her partner in uncovering rare treasure, but she initially refused and the more we think about it he's been bitter about it ever since. Now to be fair, at the time Daring Do did prefer to work alone considering in all the years of adventuring she never knew 'who' to trust but then comes this big fan of hers who also wanted to team up with her then they become besties and that pretty much bends another straw. If under the assumption that Caballeron is involved in trying to discredit Daring Do's reputation, it's not surprising to me not just being it's not the first time he's done this (Particularly the episode that introduced Somnambula... The pony, not the witch) but it's a 'Daring Do' episode so of course he'll probably be involved. And yet, we've never stopped to ponder how far back this rivalry goes so in a way there's the slightest chance this episode may offer more than what we've imagined.

And yet this also begs another question: Is this episode a Rainbow Dash or Fluttershy episode? Whenever Daring Do is involved, you bet Rainbow Dash isn't too far around the corner and of course she's going to want to side with Daring Do if only to prove Dr. Caballeron is just throwing garbage. And yet, Fluttershy is always the pony who aims to look at the other side of the story so she'd want to listen to his view of events (Even if he is a heartless baddie). Whether these two will work together in this episode or not, this episode is more than just another treasure hunt or fighting bad guys 'Indiana Jones' style in exotic jungles, this is about the search for 'truth'. After all, why would Caballeron suddenly go through all the trouble to write books about the escapades with Daring Do and how he saw these events if it wasn't just trying to get under Daring Do's skin? Even the most incompetent of villains have this moment where in their madness is the ambition to achieve something greater than themselves and knowing this is the last Daring Do adventure of the series overall we know that it needs to end as satisfying as possible.

Of course, that's the thing about 'satisfaction'... Nobody, not even on this site, can ever be satisfied. As seasons come and series ends, the writers try to close as many holes as possible in hopes to conclude these stories in their own way. Sometimes their methods are pleasing enough for the fans, but sometimes they get anger and outrage when the ending just doesn't measure up. At the end of the day, the story we're about to see is the final product we get and going in I can only hope that maybe there's something to this episode worth seeing. As a person who has grown up as a major fan of 'Indiana Jones' style stories over the years, if it's excitement we want, thrills we seek, action we crave, the MLP adventure has a new name for us to remember. And that name, no matter how this episode ends, implanted in our minds for years will be: DARING... DO!!!

But now comes bigger question: What do YOU think? Be sure to leave a comment below at your earliest convenience.
