My Little Pony Season 9 News 09/13/2019 · 11:27am Sep 13th, 2019

Ah, Dramamaster829. Got your order just as you like it: 2 pumps of chocolate with extra marshmallows.

Uh... Thank you?

GOOD MORNING, FIMFICTION FANATICS!!! This is the Dramamaster829; Critic, Actor, Writer, Motivational Speaker, and Occasional Singer, keeping you up to date with the latest news for the final season of MLP! As Twilight Sparkle prepares to accept her role as the future ruler of all Equestria, we do have to beg the question as to what will become of the School of Friendship if she's unable to run the school at the same time (Then again, not like Celestia had that problem). Actually, it's funny that I bring up this topic because it was subtly hinted of where this situation would go prior to the premier of this season and now we're about to see how one of Twilight's friends can handle it when she's put in her position. As we prepare to go into the weekend, we expect a ton of shenanigans to ensue in the episode appropriately titled:

A Horse Shoe In

*Takes a sip* Mmm... She even sprinkled the white chocolate flakes on the foam.

*Pause* Anyways, in regards to the fact this episode was released early (Thanks to some impatient user), again I must ask for one simple thing from my fellow readers:

NO SPOILERS!!!

Thank you, Rarity.

You're welcome, darling.

As stated before, with Twilight Sparkle's focus on assuming Celestia and Luna's place as Equestria's new ruler (With help from her other friends), as the appointed new headmare for the School of Friendship (As indicated in the two part premier) Starlight Glimmer attempts to hire a 'Vice' Headmare in preparation to take over the school.

*Pause* I said Vice 'Headmare'; NOT Vice 'Principal', Crubbs!

*Clears throat* Anyway, what Starlight doesn't realize is that hiring the right pony for this job is going to be more difficult than she planned it to be. Which begs the question: Was it seemingly easy for Twilight Sparkle while she was the Headmare? Those who have been following at the show at this point would just assume that because Starlight was initially one of Twilight's 'best friends' and since all her other friends already assume their roles as 'teachers', it was easy for Twilight because it gave her something to do. That if Twilight Sparkle can do it, then maybe the same can be said for Starlight Glimmer. But here's the thing about Starlight that most fans don't take into account: She's NOT Twilight Sparkle!

Now I've heard this argument between Starlight Glimmer and Twilight Sparkle being similar for 'years' since her debut back in Season 5. Yes their body colors are a certain shade of purple, sure their cutie marks relate to the stars, true they can use magic, and it's also true that both have a tendency to freak out. Hell, I've heard other arguments that Starlight Glimmer was initially brought in to be the NEW Twilight Sparkle because her magic is so powerful it can surpass the might of an Alicorn and since her reformation they try to make her out to be this seemingly 'flawless', 'perfect' pony. But I've seen Starlight Glimmer even when she wasn't a villain, her reformation was anything but 'straight forward' as she had to cope with trying to talk to an old friend about what's happened since they split apart, she's had uncomfortable times trying to make new friends based on her own choices, she always felt she needed magic to solve most of her problems, and she tries so hard to please a ton of ponies that she doesn't think to care for herself. The truth that fans refuse to accept about Starlight Glimmer being a cut above the Mane Six is a fact they need to hear: They are 'wrong' and they've always been 'wrong' since Day One.

Getting back to Starlight's current dilemma of finding a new 'vice' headmare, as Twilight Sparkle has her band of friends Starlight herself has her own little posse. Now I'm not talking about the citizens of 'Our Town', who pretty much disappeared prior to Season 6, I'm talking about some 'new' friends she made over the years: The Great and Powerful Trixie, Sunburst (Okay, not 'new' but it's kind of a fresh start), Maud Pie, and even Thorax (Though that might be tough given he's already running a colony). Right off the bat, you know that a majority of her friends will try to persuade Starlight Glimmer why they would be the right one to assume the position even if most of their arguments stem from the fact that they are supposedly Starlight's 'best friends' (As if her decision making won't be any harder). If we thought Starlight Glimmer already had a difficult time as a school guidance counselor, trying to balance between spending time with friends and consoling the students with their own problems, I can't imagine seeing things going smoothly during Starlight's process of understanding how Twilight was able to do it. Maybe what this episode could prove was that even 'Twilight' had a tough time when she considered all the plans for the school to be run, but just because it 'can' be hard it doesn't mean that it has to.

One thing is absolutely certain going into this episode: No matter who Starlight Glimmer ends up choosing, she's going to be the new 'Headmare' which has just as much responsibility as a 'vice' Headmare (Least this she'd know for a fact). Now the studio joked with Starlight Glimmer freaking out over assuming a leadership role, given how she was kind of a dictator the way she manipulated a town full of ponies to sacrifice their cutie marks for 'equality' (Only to show Twilight that it was she who taught her that freaking out over nothing doesn't get things done). Because Twilight Sparkle still wants the school to keep going, to prove that friendships between different species are still possible, she would not have given Starlight this much responsibility if Twilight didn't feel she could count on a pony who insisted to us that she has what it takes for 'true' friendship. Sure Starlight Glimmer has had her ups-and-downs in the past, her reformation journey has never been easy or well received by most 'haters', but the bottom line is that Starlight Glimmer is a woman who is still learning about herself just when she thinks she already knows the kind of pony she is. Whatever decision she ultimately makes by the time the episode is over, she must make this choice not because she feels she 'has to' or because she wants one of her friends to be 'happy', but only because... It's the right thing for the school.

But the big question remains: What do YOU think? Be sure to leave a comment below at your earliest convenience.

Until next week faithful readers, this is the Dramamaster829... Signing off! *Takes a sip of cocoa* Mmm... So good!

So does this mean you've gotten back into putting a review?

Well, I'm still facing a small delay with other projects due to certain things I...

OH, COME ON!!!!

*Spits out cocoa violently and starts coughing* Oh man... Why did today have to be the 13th? *Coughs*
