Resident Evil 2 Remake - Hunk · 2:18am Sep 9th, 2019

"Why everyone loves HUNK:
He's a total mystery. He's a total bad-ass. He's 100% human (no virus powers or crazy shenanigans). He's technically a villain, albeit more of a mercenary (which is more intriguing than being a good guy). He represents the opposite of our initial experience with RE games - the players (and Leon/Claire) being inexperienced rookies in the face of terror, whereas this whole situation was just another Tuesday afternoon for the HUNK'ster. He ALWAYS accomplishes his mission (typically as the sole survivor) regardless of the odds.

If you liked Leon or Chris when they became the action-men of future RE games, HUNK was ALREADY that good - so good that those who know him regard HUNK as death itself - and death cannot die. It is no surprise that people believed that HUNK stood for "Human Unit Never Killed", all because this one human consistently achieved the impossible. He is one of few sub-characters in the franchise who's mini-game is entirely 100% canon.

In short, this lone Umbrella operative is one of the most dangerous men in the RE universe, who casually traversed across portions of Raccoon city at its most infested (while carrying a sample that caused this whole mess in the first place) while under threat of the entire city being nuked by the government - and he didn't even break a sweat. I know most of us have hoped that HUNK would get the spotlight, but in reality that would water down the mystery and remove a lot of the appeal." from RopeDrink.
