Act IV ~ Forgotten
So now with this act, it’s going to be a bit hard to explain what this one is all about. The best way to describe it is as The Calm Before the Storm. That much I’ll say. So with that being said, it’s all about two seasons, and it’s sort of like a weird pre-sequel thing where it fills in the gaps. The first one covers between the Act I and III where Knight has to relive though season 4 of FIM and has alicorn wings. The jokes is that the wings are as useless as they were in season 4 FIM and added nothing to the character development…because all it was just to get fucking toy sales up and that was it. But of course this does mean he is a prince of some sorts since in the show, if you have wings and a horn that makes you some sort of fucking god to others. But really, just like in Season 4, little to no pony gives a shit about the wings and some don’t even recognize it either.
But aside from that, the season is pretty much like Act I, except Knight has wings. And that’s it…because later on those wings gets taken away and what not and blah blah blah, you get the idea. But it could also been as kind of nostalgic because my theory is that if to say people were to read the earlier stuff and read Act III, more than likely they would be put off by the change as most people tend to be that way, and when they read this season, they will more than likely act, “Oh boy, this reminds me of the earlier episodes…how nostalgic..I like this…” which ties into Act V funny enough…
But what about the second half of the act? Season 24? Well that season is all about Knight and Wolf and takes place right before he met the Elements of Protection, but after he was found by Celestia…basically saying it fills the gap where Knight went to Celestia’s school and was taken underneath her wing.
Now why do this at all? Why skip this part of the story as well as the other season? Well I have reasons for them, personal and technical that is…
For the one with the wings, technically, if I were to continue with Act III with that, it would be seen as stale. It hits the same beats with Act I and if it’s trying to come back fresh from act II, it would become boring to some I’m sure, so it’s best that it would be that way. And secondly, personally, I just wanted to get to the damn twist since I do like the idea of it, and it spices things up and stuff…
As for the school season, to be honest I never thought I would get comments asking what happened to it. I know it was a time skip, but in all honestly it’s just Knight and Wolf going to school. Sure you could tell a story out of that with some episodes, with what I’m doing…but it’s as interesting as Monsters University…no one cares. But I still have slight interest in it, as like I said, It’s the calm before the storm and it’s a somewhat, small, simple season.
It’s all about Knight trying to adjust to this new world he has been trapped in and trying to being taken underneath Celestia’s wing as well as making some friends and shit. All the while TF is hinted at and comes for a big attack in the end, not as big as the previous episodes, but a small one and, like I said it’s small. It isn’t big on scale, it fits nicely with the Act IV and nostalgia and being the calm before the storm. It is sort of nice. Not needed, but nice to have.
