SuperPinkBrony12

I'm a brony and a Pinkie Pie fan but I like all of the mane six, as well as Spike. I hope to provide some entertaining and interesting fanfics for the Brony community.

    Happy Birthday, Kelly Sheridan

Today is Kelly Sheridan's birthday. She is the talented woman who voiced Starlight Glimmer from Seasons 5 through 9, and was also the voice of characters such as Sassy Saddles, Misty Fly, and Vapor Trail's mother. She has also been the voice of Barbie in several direct to home media movies, Scarlet Witch in X-Men: Evolution, and many other roles.

    Episode Re-Review: Non-Compete Clause

Well, the next several episodes to be re-reviewed are going to be tough to get through, many of them contain some of Season 8's worst missteps or otherwise blunders. But I gotta get through them. This episode marked the debut of yet another new writer in the form of Kim Beyer-Johnson, who among her previous writing credits wrote for Transformers: Rescue Bots, which aired on The Hub and

    Episode Re-Review: Horse Play

Season 8 finally had an episode that made use of its changes to the status quo with "Surf and/or Turf", which many said was FiM tackling the trickly subject of divorce (though I personally don't see it). However, the episode also felt at times like it was more of a belated commercial for the 2017 movie rather than an actual episode, and the School of Friendship itself was only sort of relevant to

    Episode Re-Review: Grannies Gone Wild

Well, Tell Your Tale finally decided to try to do something interesting, because the last episode showed Sunny's mom in a flashback. But they didn't even give her a name, let alone elaborate on what happened to her. And given the way Tell Your Tale progresses, I'm not expecting any follow-up anytime soon. Getting back to G4, Season 8 hit its first stumbling block only four episodes in, and the

Episode Re-Review: Fake It 'Til You Make It

Oh joy, it's back to Season 8. Season 9 has its fair share of detractors, but hardly anyone I know ever sings Season 8's praises, and for good reason. We now know that the School of Friendship was added at Hasbro's request because they wanted the show to wrap up with nine seasons, forcing the writers to change their plans for the pillars. About the only good thing to come out of Season 8 seems to

Ranking The Episodes of FiM From Worst to Best, Version 11 · 5:30pm Jun 24th, 2019

With Season 9 halfway over, it's time to yet again update the episode rankings so we can see where the newcomers fall and what has changed. With 209 episodes to get through, you'd better believe this list is gonna be a doozy. Of course, simply explaining why every episode ends up where it does would take forever, so just ask if you wanna know why something ends up where it does. And as always this list is purely the result of my personal opinion so please respect it. Here's Version 10, from just after the 200th episode.

And like with the last couple of versions, here's a quick guide to the overall rankings for the episodes. 209-164: Terrible-Bad, 163-115: Meh-Okay, 114-79: Good, 78-53: Great, 52-4: Excellent, 3-1: Amazing. Now, I would normally do a Mane Eight Ranking update for the mid way point of a season, as well as updates to things like songs, villains, and redemptions. But I wanna wait until after "Rainbow Roadtrip" to do so this time, I don't expect it to really change my opinions on the mane eight after half of Season 9, but I'd rather wait than have to change it because of something that could happen in the special. And I'm almost certain that we're going to get more songs, another villain, and possibly another redemption out of it all (Hasbro's been pretty good at keeping details about it under wraps). But I'll be out of town on Saturday and Sunday, so the review of "Rainbow Roadtrip" won't come until Sunday night at the earliest.

Why are Forever Filly and Magical Mystery Cure so high?

5079686 "Forever Filly" manages to do what almost no other episode could manage, a conflicting loyalities story where it's possible to root for both sides. We know Rarity's in the wrong, but it's easy to see why she's acting the way she does and despite how jarring it is to have her go through what's basically a mid-life crisis, the idea of wanting to have more memories of doing fun things with her sister is enjoyable. Plus, Sweetie Belle manages to carry her side of the story really well, showing that she and the CMC are getting older.

"Magical Mystery Cure" may be a little bit rushed, but the songs help the pacing to not feel too jarring and there are some good character moments. Had the show stopped there I'd have been a little saddened and disappointed, but I would've felt it ended on a high note.

Just found this, and I always love seeing what other people think of episodes. Probably about 75% of it is at least roughly the same as how I'd rank them if I ever got around to putting in the effort. I suppose it's the episodes where we differ greatly that interest me. I won't spam this thread with a full list, but as a couple of examples:

* "Green Isn't Your Color" would easily be in my top 50, perhaps higher, though I'll need to watch it again as I haven't seen it for ages. I think my liking for it is in large part because I really like the dynamic between Fluttershy and Rarity, which I wish we'd seen more often in the show.

* At the other end of the table, "Simple Ways" is a meh episode for me, enlivened chiefly by Tabitha St. Germain's brilliant voice acting. I like it a little more than I did on first watching, but I still find Trenderhoof irritating and I'd go for "Filli Vanilli" (one you don't like!) over it every time.

Anyway, thanks for putting in the effort! As I say, it's always interesting.
