Okay, I've just scene the latest episode. Besides the fact that Hasbro has clearly been reading my stories and taking ideas from it, what they did obviously throws my series's canon into question. So here's what I'm gonna do. Let's say that in canon, Snap Shutter and Mane Allgood are close friends with Trail Blazer and Misty Veil. And in canon, my OCs were done in by some means but asked the two to look after their children. Snap and Mane adopted Scootaloo when she was still a baby, but believed Flash was dead due to the fire. I doubt they'd actually tell Scootaloo, like most adopted children, so I think it ties everything in nicely.

Exactly. Those two adopted Scootaloo from the orphanage, at request of Trail Blazer and Misty Veil.

As for my series.... um... the cannon parents are... well you could call them Mr. and Mrs. Not-Appearing-In-This-Fanfiction.

My interpretation of the aunts' relationship, based on what was shown in the episode, is that Holiday is Snap's sister (which was stated in the episode) and Lofty as Mane's sister and the two live together not unlike the aunts from Sabrina the Teenage Witch...

I don’t really think it is that big of a deal. If Scootaloo’s canon parents don’t appear at all in your series then it is just a case of Adapted Out mixed with Related In The Adaptation since Scootaloo and Flash don’t seem to be related at all in canon. But you can do whatever you want to with your series.

I think it has been confirmed that Scootaloo’s Aunt’s are a same sex couple, with it being said in the episode that Holiday is Snap’s older sister.

Not saying it's wrong, but just going off what is shown in the actual episode, it doesn't nessicarly lead to that conclusion

I'd hold off saying they are a canon couple, because what is shown in the episode is vague and quoting the production staff, heck even the voice actors, can be viewed as an appeal to authority logical fallacy because not everyone will agree to the same authority. (This is why Christians should never site the Bible when making arguments often dealing with morality)

I only say they are a same-sex-couple because apparently it was confirmed, based on an article I found on Equestria Daily. The show itself obviously leaves it ambiguous.

I think writing Snap and Mane into your Defenders series would require a major overhaul that I personally don't find necessary. I personally like your series the way is.

yes and no. Grogar was gonna appear in my stories, Scoots canon parents... not so much
Why not keep Trail Blazer and Misty Veil around as Flash and Scootaloo's birth parents and have Mane Allgood as Misty's sister and Snap Shutter her brother-in-law?
