    Lordy, how time flies!

It has reached the real life date during which the beginning of MLP EG Forever takes place. It seems like not that long ago I started writing it, thinking this timeline was a long way off, yet here we are.

As far as chapters left to write in ‘MLP EG Forever’ go, I am officially in the single digits.

Now let’s talk about Deep Purple for no reason.
I am bad at segues, BTW.

This was a band that I ignored for a long time, for one reason and one reason only: ‘Smoke on the Water.’

I know this is an iconic song, but UGH! I can’t stand it. It’s been overplayed to death, and that riff, although iconic, is just so... bleh. And since it’s the song that most people first hear from that band—myself included—I had little interest in seeing what else was in their library. I assumed it would be more of the same.

It wasn’t until the concept of electronic playlists came along that I had more of their stuff dropped in my lap, and wow... I quickly realised how wrong I was about this band. They were amazing!

Their drummer, Ian Paice, is GOD.
Evidence:

Burn!
Burn (1974)

The drum fills in this track are insane. Totally amazing shit.

Another thing I love about this band is John Lord, the keyboard/organ/piano player. It’s not very often someone can match the awesomeness of a guitar solo with an organ, but dammit, this guy pulls it off, no problem.

Fireball
Fireball (1971)

Let’s face it, every member of this band was top notch. Ritchie Blackmore on guitar is spot on.

Highway Star
Machine Head (1972)

OK I’m done.

It is to my eternal shame that when Purple and Priest were out touring last year, my wife and I attended the local-ish Priest show but ducked out before Purple took the stage.

Now, granted... it's not like we get away from the kids much these days, and there were definitely other ways that we were hoping to spend a couple of hours. But I'll admit, it #FeelsBadMan to know that I passed up a chance to see PURPLE.

Priorities, man. Priorities. Some decisions aren’t easy. :rainbowlaugh:

Dammit I forgot to hit reply again.

Browsing blog posts for the story and I see this. Are you really planning on ending the story within the next few chapters to be released? Looking at when this was posted as well as how many chapters you've posted since then... I'm going to be so sad when the story ends, unless you've got a sequel of some sort planned.

I was on hiatus at the time of this blog, during which I was finishing the first draft. As of today, there are still about 40 chapters left to be published. Don’t worry, there’s lots left!
