Here’s a callback to Chapter 65: Nachos 2.0
I made them the other night. Yes, the hot dog nachos. I’ve been meaning to try them since that chapter was written and I never got around to it, but last week I realized we had all the ingredients (almost) and so I decided to give it a go.
For those who forget, the hot dog nachos are:
-Nacho cheese Doritos
-hot dogs cut into small pieces
-shredded marble cheese
-BBQ sauce
Before putting them in the oven, I was about to take a picture, but I decided to double-check the chapter to see if I had everything, and it turns out there are cut-up onion rings in there as well—which we didn’t have.
I cooked and ate them anyway. Maybe I’ll try it later with the onion rings as well, but for the time being I’ll give my thoughts. Honestly, they weren’t bad. The chips, cheese and BBQ sauce actually went well together; the most off putting thing about it was the hot dogs, ironically. Probably be better with taco beef or buffalo chicken. I will say, I felt like absolute ASS after eating them—and it wasn’t even a big portion. Very calorie dense.
In summary: just don’t. Regardless, I still plan on trying it with the onion rings and possibly different meats. This isn’t the first thing from the story I’ve tried just to see if it is actually good; back in 2018, I mixed some vanilla and cardamom in a bit of milk and water just to see if it would smell good (referring to Rarity’s perfume). To be honest, it smelled kind of stupid, but maybe with a bit of tweaking, like WAY less cardamom and more vanilla, it might be OK. I dunno.
My God, what the fuck am I talking about? Alright, I’ll see you all tomorrow; gonna try to get the next chapter out by then.
Something in the Way
Nevermind (1991)
I'm gonna be honest. I made them like a few days after you wrote that chapter. It was so greasy and messy and somehow the tastiest junk food combo I'd ever had. Also I figured ways to make them even crazier and made some with carolina reaper flakes to give to a friend who REALLY likes hot food. He liked it enough that he literally makes them on a regular basis as a cheat meal. I also found out he's telling his other friends about it and has convinced them to have them as well.
I may or may not have accidentally created the Church of Nachos 2.0, and for all I know the congregation has only grown in size since.
