Fun Fact: Changeling of the East is actually my 7th attempt at writing a story. All the previous 6 attempts have ended in failure, whether it was because I was just not satisfied, or it simply just fell flat. Hell, most of the time all those attempts would only stress me out to no end as I tried to be an absolute perfectionist. It was during my latest attempt (see Collision Theory [which I may or may not cancel]) when I came up with the premise of Changeling of the East with three main goals in mind. Screw being perfect, blow off steam, and just have fun with it. And you know what? I am having fun with it. For possibly the first time I am actually enjoying writing a story. I still get a little stress out to make sure it at least follows a decent enough plot line, but I find it worth it. I think a little part of it is that this is also the first time I attempted at writing in the first person which I feel works with my writing style more than a 3rd person story does. All this being said, I'm still a new writer trying to learn the craft and as such I ask for a little patience at my growing pains as well as any feedback to improve. I'll even consider any future ideas anyone has, though that being said, I still have story arcs in mind that take precedent first.
I also have to thank my cousin. Despite him not being a fan of MLP in any way, shape, or form he has been acting as my proofreader and buddy that I can bounce ideas off of. In fact, we were doing this in google docs of all places while I was still writing the first chapter. I found it amusing that we were using separate paragraphs to chat back and forth. If I can find a way to get an image of it I'll show you the end of one of our conversations that don't contain any spoilers.
I'm about a third of the way through writing the next chapter and hopefully will have that out soon enough. I hope everyone is having as much fun reading it as I am just writing it.
Peace be with you,
Wingnut
