A Summer Update · 9:52am May 28th, 2019
Well summer's finally almost upon us, and with that come some changes.
Firstly, I recently launched a sort of new experimental project, a story that I completely changed everything up for. When I started planning Stardust's Odyssey back at the end of February, I wanted to write out something that was a complete departure from my comfort zone, meaning it would be in first person, not have a rigidly defined narrative outline, and as a small test would be updated daily. It took a lot of work to get to a point where I felt that it was worth sharing, but I'm really proud of what I've written so far. (Seriously, this is such a huge project for me and I'm so proud of how it's going so far and the reception it's received!)
I was initially running this story with daily updates for the first few days of it's release, however I'm most likely not going to continue that into the future. For now I want to shoot for at least two chapter updates a month, but I'm not going to hold myself to that as strictly as I held myself to Departures' release schedule. This might change once Departures is done, however this is kind of a passion project for me so I don't want to feel like I'm rushing something out just to meet deadlines.
Secondly, Departures is going to be put on Hiatus following chapter 14's release. This was always my plan from the beginning, and not much will change schedule wise once it returns. However this could wind up changing as I recently graduated college and am now looking for work full time, if some plans wind up working out I may have to shift releases around a little to accommodate this (and some significant life changes that might happen as a result too, but hey, those are always fun right?)
And Lastly, I recently passed 100,000 words total, this is such a huge milestone for me, and one that I'm so incredibly proud of! 6 months ago I never would have imagined that I'd be releasing chapters that broke 4,000 words, let alone making weekly updates on a story and pushing myself to do more stuff that's outside of my comfort zone. These last few months have been an amazing eye opener for me and I'm so glad that I've had the opportunity to work with and meet so many awesome writers! (Seriously, you guys are awesome and I can't thank you all enough for everything!)
