No One is Awake But... · 10:20am May 22nd, 2019
So, I am actually considering the option between streaming to Twitch or Youtube (ideally I'll be able to multi-stream, but that is banking on a pretty good internet connection, though that might be fixed soon) and if I can only choose one of them, which would you prefer for me to stream to? Twitch is of course the platform that is the most Streamer friendly, and has the largest suite of things for those who become partners and affiliates, such as emotes and different subscription tiers. Youtube on the other hand has not as good of a chat, but an INSANELY better player because, well, it's youtube, and I don't think they take down archives after a certain date which would let me keep a theoretically infinite backlog of my streams. Also, the notification system for videos is... well, you'll always get the email from Twitch eventually, but Youtube is famous for just burying small creator's notifications, so that's a pretty moot point.
i would say YouTube because I don't have Twitch and I am still awake … at 530 am
It's only 8:37 pm.

I'm Australian.
It's 4:37 am in Utah and I'm still up! Nothing like good old insomnia! Right guys?!
Also, YouTube would be my choice.
5062603 And it's people like you who tempt me to stream right now when my brain is going, "Hey, a good, hour long walk might help us sleep. Who cares about having literally just thrown up."
5062604 WHO NEEDS SLEEP!? It's over rated, maaaaaaaaan.
5062609
NOT ME THAT'S FOR SURE! I LOVE CRASHING AND BURNING AS SOON AS THE SUN RISES, THEN WAKING UP THREE HOURS BEFORE IT SETS! Therefore wasting an entire day! It's my favorite thing to do!

No. Go have a nap.
I recommend several small naps through the morning and afternoon.
Two in the morning, ten minutes a nap, half an hour apart (set an alarm for them).
Two in the afternoon, ten minutes for the first, fifteen for the second, about an hour apart.
5062614 I take naps, I promise, and I would love to sleep. I do take naps when I'm too tired, but I'm also currently manic, especially now that I can channel it into streaming. My head won't shut up about literally anything and AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

Have you tried alcohol?
Beer, specifically, should help.
Will someone please link a picture of Lesson Zero Twilight?! I have no idea how to link pictures on my phone!
5062617 I get sicker when I drink and in general really, really don't like alchohol or any substance really. My greatest vice is fast food. :P This is a purely personal thing of course, as I don't like the taste, I hate the lack of control, and above all else I fear addiction because I have an addictive personality in general which is never good.

I have slept for about 1-2 and 1/2 houres in the last 13/4ths days ( as the song gose ) ant no sleep for the wiked ( or me the one how fergets to go to sleep )
5062621 Okay, seriously, you should probably see a doctor than. That is to the point where you might start seeing things and what not and you REALLY need to get some sleep. Please.

Then there's always Bush Anaesthetic.
You put a bottle of alcohol in front of your face, concentrate real hard on it and have a mate take a block of wood to the back of your melon.
5062630 This made me way happier than it should have.
I'd say Twitch.
YouTube, you have to be partnered in order to stream and even then, you're more likely to get worked over by the Algorithm. And if you are partnered and monetizing on YouTube, then there are things that are out the window (Swearing, war mentioning *of any kind*, the list goes on), whereas on Twitch, you can do that stuff without a care in the world.
Take it from someone who streamed a Wartime Rail Movement and had that be demonetized for "mentioning the war".
You can transfer Twitch streams to Youtube. Might have to break up the streams first into shorter pieces, but it can be done. So, stream on Twitch, upload to Youtube.
5062635 Sorry for not responding earlier. I finally got to sleep when I saw this. Anyways, from my research: You don't have to be partnered to stream, but you do have to be partnered to make money, which is the exact same as getting affiliated on Twitch. Monetization only hits the ads that play for the video, which are generally more lucrative on youtube anyways, but also isn't usually a streamer's main source of income. You also have to be careful about saying you can do just about anything on Twitch with some of the... dubious reasons they've given to banning streamers.
As for the algorithm... Twitch doesn't have one of those, versus Youtube at least theoretically giving me a fighting chance. After all, if I stream the same thing as three other people, and they all have more viewers, they will be shown above me on Twitch, where as I may get recommended to someone who seems to usually watch RPGs, or more relaxed games, even above a bigger streamer who does nothing but the one game that I'm just casually playing that day.
I'm likely to make a blog later talking about the pros and cons of what I found for each service, but I really need to get hands on with Youtube to learn more because people have just stopped talking about its friggin livestreaming service at this point despite the fact that I know it's at least continuing.

5062639 You all seem to think I have a way to reasonably record, let alone also the harddrive space to store literal hours of audio and video at any given time.
5062823 Sorry, I didn't mean to be mean. I think there are workarounds I could technically do, as my brother records things for let's plays without equipment, but it is still something I'm a touch wary about. I personally think simpler is better with streams.
