Words and Phrases I Hate In Fanfictions
Notes: This is most important: I'm not saying I'm the best because I'm definitely far from it.
I'm also not saying that you can't use these, I just don't like them.
Buck (substituting for "fuck")
It just sounds stupid and overall has less impact than "fuck". I get that in some cases you feel the need to circumvent that innocent pony barrier, but it seems unnecessary.
Coltfriend (or any derivative)
OH MY GOD this one sucks. Just say "boyfriend" or "girlfriend"; that's actually canon. Not everything is pony related, shockingly. Yes, I know this a pony website, but "boyfriend" and "girlfriend" flow so much smoother.
Horseapples
I don't know, I just don't like it. This one you can criticize me for.
"...bit his/her lip until he/she tasted copper."
Overused, IMO. I've seen this too many times. You might think this makes a fic sound edgy, and... okay, it sounds edgy, but it's fucking stupid.
Brohoof
Please don't kill me, but this doesn't usually fit in any fic. It often feels out of place.
Sure, if you can justify these, I'll change my mind... maybe.

Also, tasting copper is stupid. Tasting iron, on the other hand, is perfectly acceptable.

You can still use them. Don't change the way you write because some idiot like me hates words. I really just don't use them because I don't like them. If you like them, that's fine. They just never feel smooth for me.
I'm just picky and occasionally a hypocrite. Take anything I say with a grain of salt.
