My 4th Live-Action Inspiration for How I View the Storm King, as Well as Keep Him in Character · 3:25pm Apr 9th, 2019

My fourth live-action inspiration for the Storm King. As well as my second to be from that of a MCU character.

Nothing big on my plate at the moment anyway, so, I figured to myself “Why not?”

Anyway, my fourth inspiration comes from this guy here:

From the very time I saw the first “Guardians of the Galaxy” film, I found Ronan the Accuser to be a definite force to be reckoned with. Lee Pace portrayed the character perfectly in both this film, and “Captain Marvel (2019)”. The character himself may not seem like the most humorous type compared to the Storm King, but he definitely isn’t without personality and his own dark sort of humor.

The reason I suddenly found Ronan to be inspirational to me is because I find him and the Storm King to especially have one thing in common: their intentions.

Just like Ronan, I believe the Storm King to be a terrorist, a racist, and someone who lives by his own beliefs to where he believes he’s the right one and wants to be his own god. I believe the Storm King to be a monster, a rogue, and a psychopath who moves from place to place to attack and kill innocent lives, particularly because he believes the world needs to be “cleansed” of all current life, kind of like Ultron really.

The only reason he would hire Tempest, of course, is so that he would acquire the magic for the Staff of Sacanas, and the reason he suddenly betrayed her in the end was because he believed her to be just like every other creature he has attacked: a disease that sickens him.

What do you guys think?

You do make a valid point especially the way The Storm King practically 'used' Tempest to get what he needs. He had never intended to get the Staff by himself, though how she got it remains to be determined. Something about how Scorpan might've had it, which means she'd have to get through him... I don't know, feels like a deleted scene that would've been decent for an opening scene (Talk about a missed opportunity). Anyways, as soon as The Storm King got what he needed and the magic generated from the alicorns to power it up, he had no intent on keeping his promise to fix Tempest's horn to rule the land side-by-side. Everything he wanted was for himself, which ultimately proved to bite him in the butt when everything went wrong.

That’s actually something I’m currently building up myself. Although it won’t be Tempest that acquires the staff, but the Storm King.

Wouldn't be surprised if it was a huge invasion of sorts with an elderly Scorpan commanding his troops to keep all the doors sealed while ensuring the staff remains secure. If The Storm King himself is to go in single-handedly, he'd have to be very skilled to take down even the strongest of guards (Which I think the book itself indicated as a removed portion of the movie, a species of sorts). I would think by the time The Storm King manages to enter the chamber where the staff is supposedly kept and Scorpan is held down by some metal chained net by the King's guards during a failed attempt to escape and call for help, that is probably when The Storm King manages to get it... But also keeping in mind he is at a point where he doesn't know how to use the staff or perhaps only learn it doesn't have any power.

It would be pointless to demand Scorpan on how to use it's power, the latter saying The Storm King may do whatever he wants to him but the King will never take over Equestria. Course in The Storm King's mind, Scorpan was right about 'one' thing... Which I can imagine him being turned to stone as The Storm King claims he'll find a way to activate the staff's power and his long awaited plan to seize control of Equestria will be fulfilled...

That's just what I was thinking anyway. But if you've got something different, I'm sure it be rather interesting to hear about it.

I'm not getting a real strong racist vibe from the Storm King. I honestly think the Kingpin and Norman Osborne were A LOT more spot-on.

It’s pretty close to what you just said. Although my vision is definitely different.

I don't think he has so much an issue on any 'race'. I think with the ponies, for example, he just doesn't like the 'ideals' that they live by. About friendship, magic, and all things cute... The Storm King can't stand the thought. It's like a world where everything is can settled peacefully, everyone can live in harmony, but The King is all about chaos and destruction. To be able to get away with anything because no one has the guts to challenge his might and any who do suffer greatly.

Thanks for the confirmation. Hope it turns out swimmingly!

Now that makes a lot more sense.

Glad I could be of service. It helps when I've seen the feature at least more than once.

I think the part that Ronan and the Storm King definitely have in common the most is the fact that both of them are terrorists.

What do you think?

You know, he also reminds me a little of Mojo Jojo.

You know. The archnemesis of the Powerpuff Girls.

Ohhhh. Now I see,

Unfortunately, I don’t watch that cartoon.
