    a central driving plot point is scootaloo’s inability to process the grief of the death of a parent.

    and I awoke this morning to my mom calling me and telling me that my father died last night.

I'm writing a high fantasy novel. I haven't been putting much work into anything else. So uh. Everything's still gonna be done eventually, but right now just isn't conducive to writing my fics.

Anyway it's high dark fantasy which basically means it's separate from our own universe and has elements of horror. PM me if you're interested in knowing more.
