Informational. Worldbuilding. Part 1

The world of 'The Cat, Witch and the Wormholes' is slightly different from its progenitors. Presenting a fusion of its parts. There would be place for Magic, for Super powers and for advanced space technology.

In this reality, the planet Equis appeared as a result of an apocalyptic event associated with the emergence of Discord and the coming of the era of Cutie Marks. He and some other Equis supervillains were born as a result of the amalgam between the overpowered Special Talents and Conflict Engines who always came into the world in the wake of the Entities.

Entities arrived in this world about two thousand years ago with the goal of seeding Shards and gathering information about their use by intelligent inhabitants of this world, with the sterilization of the world at the end of the experiment. But their plans did not come true because one of the Conflict Engines, Discord, retained enough rationality to come up with a plan to prevent the death of the inhabitants of the world. Using his chaotic super powers, Discord brought down all the planets from the entire local star system from all the closest dimensions to the Entities, killing them and thus preventing a terrible outcome.

This led to the apocalypse on the planet Equis and the formation of a geocentric model of this star system. Unfortunately, as a result of such global changes, many living species died, but still it was a much better outcome than the complete destruction of absolutely everything. These events were followed by decades of total domination of the Discord over the whole world. Years of suffering and pain for all lucky enough to survive in the apocalypse.

His Reign of Terror ended with the ascension of the first Alicorns — Celestia and the Luna, who had sworn to revenge to Discord for the death of their friends and loved ones and all other sentient beings. They did not know that this mass death of everything around was the best outcome in the situation with Entities, since the alternative to this was complete extinction. But even Discord, being not quite sane, only worsened the situation in the world, and only the Elements of Harmony could finally stop this whole nightmare.

Since then, the two of them helped restore the ruined world, traveling to all its corners, carrying with them hope for the best. But even they were not all powerful. The end of the Age of Chaos brought with it the awakening of the Windigos and the arrival of a new Ice Age. Windigos were a kind of creature that fed on negative emotions, becoming magically stronger from them, strengthening their talents of controlling the cold weather. And the only way to resist them was to unite the tribes and good-hearted attitude towards each other. Kindness, Honesty, Generosity, Joy, Loyalty, Friendliness became the basis of the new society.

All these qualities were now a harsh necessity for survival in a world where negative emotions feed all evil and nightmarish. Both Celestia and Luna additionally focused on them, since only the absence of reasons for suffering could stop the emergence of new Special Talents, or rather, superpowers aimed at conflict and cruelty.

Since then, thousands of years have passed and the current generations of ponies and other sentient beings receive their Special Talents as a result of various moments that were significant to them. All their talents are the buds of parental or family talents. And only a few Special Talents arise as a result of a deep emotional shock. To supervise the emergence of such talents, there is a special secret unit of the Royal Chancellery. Because only timely detection of super talents can help prevent possible tragedies.

But in general, the world of Equis in this reality is not very different from the canonical world of Hasbro. Most of the events that occurred in it remained the same, and only their reasons could be slightly different. The images and characters of the heroes of the saga of Magic and Friendship also changed a little.

And finally, it’s probably worth saying that all events take place many years before the FiM main canon, so the probability of meeting our favorite characters will be rather low.
