The purpose of a story is that it's a story. It can be more, but it can never be less.

    Friendship is Magic: the Musical

So I've been trying to find ways out of my recent funk, and this was one of the most recent attempts. I thoroughly enjoyed the freshman season of Hazbin Hotel, particularly the outstanding musical numbers and how the whole season could, with just a few small modifications, be made into a Broadway style stage musical.

So I figured hell, why not do the same with Friendship is Magic?

    Our Last Anniversary

I've been radio silent on social media since my now ex-wife and I announced our split. A few days ago, I was moved to write this and post it on Facebook. Figured I might as well post it here as well.

    Folks say it's pretty good.

    State of the Author 2023

    It's bad.

    Real bad.

So it should come as no surprise that my wife and I are divorcing. We're having to take it slow because she's so close to the end of her degree and I want her to be in a good place to help take care of our boys. We're still co-habitating, still friends.

Special Announcement: 7 Years, 7 Days, 7 Stories · 7:37pm Mar 12th, 2019

April 12 will mark my seventh anniversary here on FIMFiction, so what better way to celebrate that (and the fact that I've recently crossed the 900 Followers mark) than by making up for lost time. So, from the 12th to the 18th of April, I'll be posting 7 new stories. These are all the results of my on again/off again writing schedule, and I'm pleased to say that 3 of these stories are, at this very moment, all done and ready to post.

April 12 will see the release of 'The Long Con,' a story roughly a year in the making. I'll have more to say on the matter later, but this was the result of my listening to a (in my opinion) rather poor "Starlight is Totally Evil" story and deciding that I could do better.

April 13 will be the arrival of 'Motherhood,' a short and humorous story inspired by the works of Aragon, particularly 'Family Matters.'

April 14 is the day that I'll unveil 'The Last Temptation of Chrystabelle,' a story that's been in my mind for several years now and one that I've only recently cracked. It's a bedtime story, but you'll find no happy endings here.

April 15 will unleash 'The Trouble,' a fearful little experiment featuring the Apple Family and the darker side of nature.

April 16 brings us 'The Abyss Gazes Also,' which as you'll recall was intended to be released last Halloween. Set in the same universe as another of my favorite horror stories, this first person tale will feature Rarity recounting the events that have led her to a police station as the prime suspect in several disappearances.

April 17 brings to light 'For the Love of the Craft,' originally intended as my entry in Aragon's 'Comedy (Is Serious Business) Contest' from last year. A few weeks back, I looked back over it and decided that it actually was pretty funny and deserved to be finished.

April 18, last but not least, will see the arrival of the first two chapters of my grand EqG Rarijack romance 'Country Mouse, City Mouse,' now with less pregnant Applejack cover art.

Additionally, July 5th, 2019, will see the release of 'the Great City of Zeph,' the next chapter of 'On Swift Wings.' That date was chosen because the last non-Celestia chapter was posted on that day (checks notes) two years ago.

Christ.

Finally, the last three chapters of 'the Wicker Mare' are on track to be released on June 21, 2019, which is (appropriately) the Summer Solstice. Read into that what you will.

I think I've finally cracked the balance of writing, work, and fatherhood, and a couple of those new stories I'm very pleased to finally share with you all.

As Friendship is Magic draws to an end, it falls to we writers to keep these characters breathing, to keep this universe expanding and living.

And, baby, I'm not gonna be done anytime soon.

PS: My son is now a healthy 15 months old. He enjoys running around the house, chicken nuggets... and dancing to Winter Wrap Up.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the "Dear Sweetie Belle" continuity kind of gave me the impression you were an Appledash shipper, not Rarijack.

Oh, wow, you really have been busy. I look forward to being inundated with reading material next month.

This is your 6:30 reminder that "chicken nuggets" fits the cadence of "Winter Wrap-Up".

It's complicated, but it basically boils down to this. AppleDash is still all in as part of the Continuity. However, in the course of writing my EqG Trilogy, I became very fond of Rarijack in the EqG universe.

Two universes, two supported ships.

Glad to heart it!

Whoo! Can't wait!

A Jade Ring story bomb?! Yes please. Nice to see your kid is being energetic & with good music taste.

Hey man! Glad to see you're still around!

With the show ending Bronycon is ending this year as well. Any chance you're gonna go?

Sadly not. Heading down to Disney with the missus for a birthday trip. Will be there in spirit!

I thought it was a long shot. I had to ask though!

Though Disney will be fun! Enjoy Disney for me, I'll enjoy Bronycon for you!
