My Little Pony Season 9 News 03/11/2019 · 12:59pm Mar 11th, 2019

Good morning FimFiction fanatics, this is the Dramamaster829; Critic, Actor, Writer, Motivational Speaker, and Occasional Singer. A few days ago, the FiM team made an announcement not only regarding that Season 9 will be it's final season but we were given a brief plot as to what's to expect in the Season premier (Unless fans didn't want to be spoiled, they probably didn't see). But today, I'm continuing that trend of delivering the news for Season 9 as a few screenshots were recently posted earlier last weekend indicating what to expect during the run. Now from here on out, this isn't exactly a 'spoiler' so to speak more of a speculation, a means to discuss what we 'think' is going to happen if we were given one image alone and I'd think it be a fun little guessing game for the community. So without further ado, it's time for a round of 'Detective' and see just what we can discover.

1. Our first screenshot on the list further confirms that Patton Oswalt will indeed return for this season as Quibble Pants, the Daring Do fan from the convention who initially gave Rainbow Dash trouble after some disagreement not only on the recent books but Daring Do's very existence (Despite the fact Dash herself was on one of her adventures). But here we have what appears to be a Buckball segment, which is either going to be the central focus of this episode or just a small part of a grander scheme to come but all we know for sure is that three of our Mane Six our involved. If you notice in this very shot, Quibble Pants is not alone as he's beside a lovely mare who I can assume holds a connection to him in some way (Either his wife or a very close friend/relative) while to your left you can see a little filly beside Rainbow Dash conversing with Buckball members Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie (Who first took part with Applejack to face Braeburn's team). Offhand I can only deduce that it seems the filly is interested in joining the buckball team or that she looks up to the Mane Six for their heroic efforts over the course of the series, but based on the facial expressions between Quibble and this one mare it seems there is a bit of concern with what the filly is implying and I stand to reason we may be looking at some tension with Quibble that could make an essential part of the show. Based on the outfit, it's possible Quibble Pants is also a buckball coach or just dressed to watch the game with indication that if this filly (If it could be his daughter) wants to join a Buckball team he's hoping it be his team indicating a concern for family loyalty (That's just based on little information we got so far).

2. We can greatly tell that it seems like a regular school day for our cast, either taking place during the premier or perhaps occurring later in the series. If we notice the stack that Twilight is levitating, as she's talking to two of the students, it's likely there's some big dance set to take place since the school first opened and several of the Student Six appear to be excited (Well, except for Gallus). If not as part of the season premier, it's possible we'll have ourselves a school dance episode definitely smaller than the Grand Galloping Gala (Which as we know is notorious for being awful). This would make an opportunity for the fans' favorite ships to be on the dance floor (Like Gallus and Silverstream for example) but the tricky part would be to determine some form of conflict taking place to make the dance complicated. After all, if 'Equestria Girls' was any indication, not even a simple school dance is safe from any catastrophe that's bound to happen whether it's a monster attack or a conflict making the event more stressful than need be.

3. It's always adorable to see two sisters like Applejack and Apple Bloom together, not even just to symbolize that the upcoming season is bound to be huge. If this segment was part of the opening premier set to air this coming April, it's possible to conclude this is part of an opening number segment with the Mane Six going about their day like it's a normal morning and these farm gals are part of it in some sense. If part as a standalone episode for the season, it's usually fun to see an Apple Family episode that helps strengthen the bond of one of the most notable families in the season yet it's up in the air as to what friendship lesson these girls would need to learn. One frustrating notion that's been debated throughout the series is this: We know how Bright Mac and Pear Butter (a.k.a. Buttercup), the parents of Applejack and Apple Bloom, first met and eventually married (Despite some stupid feud)... But what still remains unknown is what happened that led to their disappearance? The majority of the fanbase, even Mrs. Faust, made it clear the two passed away prior to the series yet being that this is the show's final season... Maybe it's about time to stop holding back and recognize the fans deserve to know the truth.

4. When it comes to Pinkie Pie, we never know what to expect from her except something random is bound to happen. Going back on what could happen in the premier, if Pinkie Pie is having any part of it then we can expect her part of the opening number to be so animated it's no surprise there'd be a planet with a face on it. On the other hand, rumor has it that Weird Al Yankovic is set to reappear during the new season and no other pony has proven to be just as random and crazy as Cheese Sandwich. We may not know what the plot is going to be but given Weird Al's musical chops combined with Pinkie's hilarity it's bound to be a rather energetic episode for the season. No words can truly explain in detail what's happening in this image, but regardless of which episode it's part of it's always fun to see everyone's favorite party planner on the screen (Though that one episode in the last season is still cringe heavy).

5. Seeing Rarity back in her Shadow Spades attire, alongside Rainbow Dash, reminds me of the time when Rarity tried to clear her friend's name when it turned out a famous Wonderbolt tried to keep his record intact (And no one's seen or heard of him since). Only this time, Spike and Fluttershy are added into the mix as we see a familiar outfit Flutters wore back when Trixie was consumed by the power of the Alicorn Amulet. Based on location, which looks like a very old part of some castle indicated by cobwebs by the supplies, it's possible these four are following some lead that takes them to some foreboding unfamiliar territory. We may not know what the episode may imply itself, if anything it might not even be a big mystery but rather a chance just for Rarity to show off some wardrobe choices. For now, this is only based on what minimal evidence we have to work with as the speculation continues to grow.

6. When we first see this scene, it's difficult to think there's anything special regarding Twilight Sparkle with a book. Based on the falls in the background, it's possible that Twilight is strolling through the grounds of the school trying to research something or maybe this is part of another adventure taking them outside their home. Now let's assume for a moment this too is part of the season premier, generally it's another normal day for Twilight but at some point during this part we can assume that Celestia has announced that Twilight and her friends are to appear at the castle at once thus interrupting their daily routine. But like I said before, fans might not take this one scene seriously because based on appearances this seems like something only Twilight Sparkle would do during the day. I'd say we just put a pin on this for now until further details are added.

7. Once again it's no surprise Spike would be in trouble especially if it has something to do with his own kind, like that jerk Garble. In addition, Smoulder would be one of the few Dragons who'd stand up for Spike to prevent any form of trouble though what her relationship is with these Dragons in the groupshot is left for speculation. Based on the burnt fabric with hearts Spike is holding, it's possible to assume that we could be seeing another 'Hearts and Hooves Day' episode which the Dragons would unsurprisingly be against as they can barely tolerate the idea of friendship as opposed to destruction and competition. We can also assume that out of all the dragons, Smoulder may know Garble the most indicating that they could either be siblings or cousins and clearly these two don't get along on the note that Smoulder would agree to attend a school not only consisting of ponies but species inferior to their race (Despite Ember's attempt to keep the peace). As one of the characters we generally love to hate, whatever mischief Garble is up to we are just waiting for him to get some comeuppance unless this season is set to provide a window of opportunity to dive deep into his psyche in a way we generally wouldn't expect to happen.

8. While most of the scenes we've seen up to this point were left to interpretation, it's clear to see this moment takes place during the two part premier. With dark crystals bursting around Equestria and the vines free to grow around the destruction (Revealed to be caused by Discord during his first initial rule, back when he was a villain), this moment must've occurred after the destruction of the Tree of Harmony (Along with the elements). It's still left in the air as to why the girls would be seen fighting with gardening tools, we can only assume that even though Twilight and Rarity must still have their magic it's not enough to deal with the growing vines. We know that even though they've possibly lost the means to combat King Sombra at some point during this moment, the girls are still determined to defend their home by any means even if it means resorting to smaller means of fighting. Still, if we're going to open our final season on a big note, it calls for some major moments and this may indeed be one of them along with King Sombra's surprise return to the show.

9. Back on the subject of King Sombra, one of the most underrated villains from an earlier season with a surprising fan base has made his return and based on several scenes he's making a statement. Attempting to kidnap Flurry Heart (Leaving us wondering why even Cadence's shield couldn't keep him out), unleashing his dark crystals to destroy the Elements of Harmony, hypnotizing the ponies to serve him, and rumors of his assembling of an army to face the Mane Six head on, King Sombra clearly seeks to prove he was more than just some growling monster who barely says a word. Notice in this segment when it appears Sombra is shocked the girls maintained some power to fight him even without the Elements at their side, but also how Twilight's mane has that flowing effect much like the princesses. We know based on the brief synopsis that the princesses have declared their retirement and named Twilight (Along with her friends) as the new heirs to the throne, so we can only assume as their last course of action the princesses grant Twilight their power to prove what a capable leader she can be and help save Equestria with the help of her friends. What's to become of King Sombra after this moment remains to be seen, either he'll be destroyed for good or he could yet again be another villain possibly redeemed through the power of friendship (Much to the chagrin of several fans, I won't say who because I don't know most of them).

10. As we continue to observe several of these scenes occur during the Season premier, it looks as if the Students were transported into Discord's chaotic realm as it means to keep them safe from what scheme Sombra has to take over Equestria. We also notice that Twilight Sparkle's hologram, representing the Tree of Harmony, is igniting some form of power upon these students as if to further predict that these six will soon be next in line when the Mane Six are no longer the defenders to help save Equestria. Whether we agree with the colored lines representing the Mane Six and how they match with the students or not, it seems as if even though the tree itself is permanently destroyed (As they have seen in one scene during the recent trailer) the spirit somehow remained intact though it seems just barely. Knowing that it won't be long before it permanently disappears, the spirit must've decided to hide the remaining parts of her power into the Students so that when the time comes they will embrace their destiny to be the new hero-team to help Twilight and her friends. And since we know Discord is definitely part of the premier, if we look back on his speech spoken during the trailer, if he wasn't just talking to Twilight about how their friendship will prevail it's possible to conclude he may have been saying that to the students (Despite not having interacted with them as much).

11. Our last image on this list confirms there may be an episode set in an old ponies' home, among them it appears to be a reunion of a band who were once very big during their youth. While we may recognize a notable background pony on the right, the rest may be tricky to know (Unless the more attentive of fans can confirm) but this leads to a very interesting debate as to what this episode may be. The two musicians to your left with the most attire could very well be a married couple for an immeasurable amount of time (I might be exaggerating) having played together for a while, while our drummer in the back is associated with the band in some form. But I believe the lead guitar player upfront, who appears to be the most passionate, must've wanted this reunion to take place wanting to spend the remaining moments of her life by getting the band back together to play for a crowd regardless if any pony would remember them or not. And it's still in the air as to which friendship lesson features one of our Mane Six, but it's possible that if one of them knows these ponies (Which I'm thinking it's the one with the guitar) my guess is that based on the cutie mark it may be a relative of Twilight (Possibly either a grandmother or great aunt), a pony that's never seen this mare for a long time and the latter might need her help in more ways than none (I don't know for sure, I'm just guessing).

Now we come to the big question MLP fanatics: What do YOU think? With less than a few weeks before the anticipated premier the first Saturday of the month, be sure to leave a comment below (At your earliest convenience) and let me know what you can guess based on these images below. Because overall, I'm excited for what's to come for the final season and expect nothing less than a final attempt to leave a lasting impression on the fans as a whole.

Until then, this is the Dramamaster829... Signing off!

P.S. Although I don't have an image of this part, the 200th episode is not only rumored to be a sibling rivalry episode between Twilight Sparkle and Shining Armor, but also a big 'Thank You' message to five of the show's actresses who made the series the way it is today (More on that subject will follow within the next few weeks).

Hmm... You may be on to something. Based on color scheme, they do seem to have some form of relationship. It's possible he could either be her dad or maybe her uncle of sorts, who knows? I guess overall Smoulder does indeed see Garble as a jerk for picking on folks smaller and weaker than him, even if it's a habit amongst dragons. I suppose when the season eventually airs and we get to this part, we are able to find out what form of adventure we are dealing with. Spike's already had to deal with a Dragon who faked being his dad just to live in the castle... The last thing he needs is any more trouble from Garble.
