A question to potential remaining Don't Go To Sleep readers · 3:29am Feb 25th, 2019
Something something, it's been months since my last update, something something you know the rest. I'm gonna put a fork in mentioning the wait and first talk about Don't Go To Sleep before I ramble about This Can't Be Happening in a different blog. Alright, so, with one long drawn out story finally done the question remains what to now do with the other. So to keep this short and sweet, I'm making this blog to determine what the current interest there is, if any, for Don't Go To Sleep. It's been 6 years since it was last updated, so something tells me there's likely to be none but I figured I should check first. Here's what I'm trying to determine, do I just do what I did with This Can't Be Happening, just continue updating despite the ridiculous gap between chapters and truck on as normal? Or, if there isn't any real demand right now, do I reboot the story and start from the beginning to touch up on some things and hopefully have a new chance to build an audience without abandoning them after two chapters?
There's a few things I want to tweak about the existing chapters. The big one is the lazy way I introduced Luna to the plot, that's something I really want to reattempt since it's so awkwardly added in as it is. I think the dream with Winona could also use some work, I rudely ignored a suggestion from Brony_Fife back then about how to structure the sequence in a more interesting way and that could also be something to look into for a potential reboot. I don't know, I guess I just kind of like the idea of being able to try and start the story over with a clean slate since it never really got off the ground the way I wanted to, which was mostly the fault of me and my lack of update schedule.
So yeah, that's about it. I just want to see what potential interest exists right now for the story. If there's interest there, I'll probably just press on as it is, but if there's none then I may as well reboot it when I'm more prepared to write it without taking years between updates.
I thought the story was pretty interesting, if it stays in pretty much the same vein, I'm game.
