I swear down, this story has had its moments with me during the time that I was writing it, which I think was something around a few days away from becoming a solid week. I actually had a nightmare a day before I finished this story, and I'm likely to have a couple more every now and again, seeing as this story was inspired by a real-life haunted painting known as The Anguished Man.

This story is a psychological horror and thriller full of strange paranormal experiences, surprises and shocking secrets, some of which you likely will never have guessed before the truth was spilled. It is by far the most worked-on and dedicated horror story I have ever written, and the length of the story tells you that without me needing to tell you anything!

I had a slow week with this story and I have had the idea circling around for a while, so I'm glad that I finally got it out before it completely dragged me down to hell. If you decide to read it, my suggestion is turn the lights off, use the night setting for reading in a quiet room, close your curtains, have a bowl of popcorn handy and see where the evening takes you. Because, quite frankly, even I got scared when I was writing this. I wrote it sat in the dark all day until it was done. I kinda got a little freaked out every now and again, to tell you the truth.
