How They Should've Done: Equestria Girls - Friendship Games · 1:31pm Feb 5th, 2019

So... This is something I'm doing.

Hello there, I'm Ace_AttorneyFan800, or if you wanna call me Tina Arnold, and this is "How They Should've Done" where I take a look at infamously bad written MLP episodes and Equestria Girls memorabilia and talk about how I would write them, because why the hell not!

So for this, I'm looking at "Equestria Girls: Friendship Games" the most boring and poorly executed film of the original Equestria Girls Trilogy. If there was anything I could say to describe this movie it would be, "full of poorly executed ideas, full of missed opportunities, and full of boring filler, all three coming together to form a delicacy known as a boring end to an opening trilogy". This was the third Equestria Girls film, we practically just got off the heals of the second movie which was, and still is, considered to be the best movie in the whole franchise and to follow up with what we got in the third movie put a bit of a sour taste in people's mouths.

It SHOULD'VE been better! We were finally gonna be given an answer to the lingering question from the first movie and the cliffhanger post-credits scene of the second one being, "where is the other Twilight of this universe?" We finally got it, and while Sci-Twi, as she's affectionately referred to by the fandom for the sake of confusion, was a good foil in showing what Twilight COULD'VE become, it was overall lacked the weight it needed because of Sci-Twi being forced in with these brand new characters who pretty much were nothing but flat cardboard cutouts who felt shoehorned in for the sake of having foil characters for the Humane 6, and because of that Sci-Twi's involvement felt like it was getting in the way because they needed to juggle her on top of these new characters, Sunset's struggle to understand magic, the friendship games events themselves, and it all ended up collapsing into this one giant stupid mess of an ending that felt hollow and empty...

...and I can do it better.

Before I begin, I need to set a few rules so that you know what you're getting into. First off, no Sugarcoat, Sour Sweet, Indigo Zap, Lemon Zest, and Sunny Flare. This is supposed to be Sci-Twi's film. You can have your chance in the sun later, but for now, this is Sci-Twi's time in the light so kindly piss off for now. Your involvement is only gonna make things messy because if there's anything we can take away from Rami's Spider-Man 3, too many new characters and plotlines can kill a movie.

Secondly, there needs to be a third main character. Sci-Twi and Sunset take up a bulk of the movie, but having it JUST be those two made it feel unbalanced. Sci-Twi was the character who wanted to harness and understand the magic for her own selfish reasons, and Sunset was the character who had the magic but didn't understand how to control it. There needs to be a third perspective. Someone who's had contact with magic, doesn't understand it, and feels like a bystandard for not being able to help due to not having any themselves. But it can't be any character, it's gotta be someone close to the Rain- IT'S FLASH SENTRY! IT'S GOTTA BE FLASH SENTRY! Flash Sentry has been built up for two movies now as someone close to the Rainbooms, has had contact with magic, doesn't fully understand it and wants to understand it, and because he has no magic he feels utterly useless, he is the perfect middle man! Not to mention having him as the third Main Character will finally wrap up this plotline that has been building for the past two movies, that being his love for Twilight. This romance plot is something that should've gotten its definitive conclusion in this movie, this was the PERFECT movie to finally wrap it up and they did NOTHING with it. That is bullsh*t at it's finest.

Thirdly, Principal Cinch will be replaced with Sombra. This is so obvious, the character of Cinch is pure bullsh*t, it NEEDED to be Sombra who was the Principal, or this case Headmaster because if you're gonna make Cadence a Dean at least use the correct terminology for the Principal damn it, it's so god damned obvious! Plus, making Sombra the Headmaster could be the Writers' second chance at giving Sombra more character. Outside of the comics, which canonicity is questionable on SO many levels, Sombra's gotten jack sh*t in terms of character, this could be the writers' second chance to give us the character he SHOULD'VE been, an expert manipulator who used his power to worm his way into planting seeds of doubt within Twilight's brain of her trust in others. Principal Cinch's character in the movie looks like that was what they were trying to go for, but they poorly executed it so badly that it doesn't come across as it should.

Lastly, this is more of a heads up, some ideas are gonna be taken from the fic, "Fire Pit - An 'Equestria Girls' One-Shot by Ro994" a pretty damn good fic that fleshes out Flash's character more and gives a proper conclusion to the FlashLight romance that Friendship Games failed to deliver. If you wanna read it I shall provide a link here:

So with that out of the way, let us begin.

So the movie starts off as it does with Sunset running to the school and joining up with her friends at Canterlot High and Rainbow Dash calling them because of a busted guitar string, but instead of it being for showing off to the Canterlot Movie Club, instead, she wanted to call them to have an audience to her guitar battle against Flash Sentry, this way we can introduce him early on into the movie, her guitar gets fixed up and everyone but Sunset heads into the building because Sunset writes a letter to Twilight in her journal about the magic in her world. But we don't cut to Sci-Twi getting off the bus, this time Flash comes into the scene and the two share a banter that goes something like this:

Sunset: Oh! Flash! W-what are-

Flash: I overheard everything Sunset. Tell me, is Twilight ever going to come back? I never got the chance to apologize to her after the battle of the bands-

Sunset: Flash, that was in the past, you weren't yourself, you were under a spell.

Flash: I... I know, but... the things I said to her...

Sunset: The words that other you said might not have been kind, but that other you wasn't exactly wrong either. Twilight had no idea what she was doing and if it hadn't been for her telling me to come in to help them-

Flash: But you have no idea what it's like to be nothing but a bystandard in your magic battles.

Sunset: What?!

But before Sunset can further ask Flash notices Sci-Twi holding her strange PKE Meter like device and messing with the portal and calls out to her, but frightens her and he and Sunset give chase in response. Like in the original movie traffic blocks them and Sci-Twi gets away, we get the reveal of Sci-Twi on the bus and head into the opening credits. Afterward we pick up with Sci-Twi making her spectrometer and from there I'd keep everything how it is up until Sci-Twi's meeting with Headmaster Sombra. Her meeting is JUST between her and him, no Shining Armor, at least not yet, and no Dean Cadence in the room. Just Sombra and Sci-Twi. And the scene is his upper body covered in shadow, with the exception of his hands closed together on the desk, a single light sitting above and illuminating Sci-Twi as she sits in the chair opposite to the other person.

Just like in the original movie we have Sombra using his words to tempt Sci-Twi into joining the Friendship Games but I think it would go more like this:

Sombra: Twilight dear, do you know why I called you here?

Sci-Twi: Well, not exactly-

Sombra: I will not beat around the bush. I want you to compete in the Friendship Games.

Sci-Twi: Huh?! B-b-b-but Headmaster, I-I-I-I can't! I-

Sombra: Hehehehe~ Calm yourself, child. I know you're not physically capable of any sport. You doing your best to avoid P.E or any sports class required to graduate Crystal Prep shows it well.

Sci-Twi: H-h-how did you-

Sombra: I know everything that goes down in this school Twilight. There's nothing that doesn't go by MY office or MY ears at least once through either the students or fellow staff. Cadence in particular.

Sci-Twi's face then gets a look of, "Cadence told him, oh crap baskets".

Sombra: But, I'm asking you to compete, because, I'm going to offer you a deal.

Sci-Twi: A-a deal, sir?

Sombra: You're without a doubt the best student I have ever seen, the only one whose even come remotely close to you is Moondancer, but even she's lacking behind.

Sci-Twi: Oh, you flatter me~

Sombra: But your representation will be important Twilight, seeing my smartest and best student in action by Canterlot High will put them in their place, to know that you are the kind of student they and our own student body should model to be! Just like your brother before you. One of my top athletes, someone many thrived and still thrive to be! If you compete in the Friendship Games to represent our school, I can use my backstage politics to get you into the school of your dreams.

Sci-Twi: Y-you mean-?!

Sombra: Everton? Yes, dear girl, I know you want to go there. My offer is on the table.

Sombra offers his hand.

Sombra: What do you say?

Sci-Twi: Of course, I accept Headmaster Sombra!

Sci-Twi then shakes Sombra's hand and then, his entire body, his design, is revealed to a musical score of horror. Tell me that wouldn't send a chill down your spine. I dare you.

From there, again, I'd keep everything up until Pinkie reveals that it's really the Twilight from this world. (this is where the inspiration from Fire Pit comes into play) From there, I'd pan over to Flash who had overheard everything and goes to find Sci-Twi where he apologizes for mistaking her for Pony Twilight and we have some banter between them that goes along the lines of something like this:

Sci-Twi: You wouldn't happen to know about this strange energy do you?

Flash: You mean the magic? What even happened back there?

Sci-Twi: This is the spectrometer I invented to track and capture abnormal frequencies in the area, or in lament's terms, basically measures when something unidentifiable is nearby.

Flash: Well if you're looking for abnormal you've certainly come to the right place for that.

Sci-Twi: Please, why don't you show me around? Tell me everything you know about these weird frequencies I've been finding.

Flash: Uh... you mean the magic?

Sci-Twi: Magic... huh. Sooo that's what you call it? I suppose I can call it that for now until I can find a more scientific name for it in my report to Everton.

Flash: Everton? Why do you wanna go to someplace like that?

Sci-Twi: I'll explain later, I've gotta go meet up with the rest of my school or Headmaster Sombra will chew my ears out. You don't mind meeting up later to investigate with me, do you?

Flash then stutters on his words, unable to form a complete sentence. This is where him as the middle man comes out, he has no knowledge on magic at all, but at the same time he wants to learn, he wants to get involved in some way like he wasn't able to before. But his moral compass is telling him to not do it, even then he still agrees to it hoping he didn't just make a huge mistake. From there up until the tri-cross rally, everything remains the same except for the fact Flash is with Sci-Twi when she collects Pinkie's magic and eventually Fluttershy's, but due to holding Spike, Spike doesn't become a talking dog, because that's some bullsh*t and dog spike doesn't need to talk. He can be more intelligent than the average dog, but not talk.

Before the Tri-Cross Rally, we cut to Twilight in the locker room all changed up, but Flash is in there to talk to her. That talk would go along the lines of this, again credits due to Fire Pit for the inspiration:

Flash: Hey.

Sci-Twi: Huh?! What are you doing in here? Shouldn't you be in the stands with everyone else?

Flash: Look... I came to talk to you.

Sci-Twi: What for?

Flash: You've seemed a little bit off since you gathered the magic from Fluttershy, are you feeling alright?

Sci-Twi: To be honest? I've felt better...

Sci-Twi sits on the ground and Flash joins her.

Flash: I know how that feels all too well. I get nervous as heck when my band and I are about to perform, just having so many people looking at you and judging your every action can be tense. But it's never really that big of a deal-

Sci-Twi: N-no... it's not just that Flash... I... I... I just feel a lot of pressure on me. Everyone will expect me to hit the bullseye perfectly cause that's the only way we'll be able to win. But at the same time, it feels like no one believes I can do it at all. Everyone knows I stink at physical activities, I mean I dodge P.E at any chance I could get back at Crystal Prep. They've probably lost all hope in me already and I haven't even set foot outside yet... It's just like when I won the academic decathlon, nobody was surprised because they all know I'm the top student in academics.

Flash: Believe me, I know how that feels too. When I told my friends what I was doing, following you around everywhere, they were almost unsupportive, thought I finally lost it. They think that since I’m not the one who stopped the sirens with a super powerful musical number or the one who blasted Sunset Shimmer with magical rainbows when she turned into an out of control she-demon that I should just stay on the sidelines and let the Rainbooms handle it like a spectator. That’s how it’s always been. No one thinks I’m more than just the school’s music man. I mean, no one has said it to my face, but I can tell that’s what they think.

Sci-Twi: Well they're just plum wrong. I think you're more than just a guitarist or a popular guy. You're super kind, helpful, trustworthy, brave, and courageous. Cause I think it takes a lot of guts to want to get more into magic even after all the disasters you’ve witnessed. So what if you haven’t been the one who solved them? There’s still a chance for you to do be destined for greater things.

Flash: Hehehe~ See? Just as you believe in me, I believe in you too.

Flash then gets up offering a hand in a sort of call back to the first time he met Twilight in the hallway.

Flash: And I'm sure you'll make everyone's jaw drop at the rally.

Sci-Twi then gets up as she takes Flash's hand.

Sci-Twi: Thanks. I needed that little pep talk.

Flash: No problem, what are friends for anyway?

Sci-Twi: I-I guess we are friends aren't we? Hehehe~

Flash: Yeah, of course! Why wouldn't we be?

Sci-Twi: Well other than Spike... you're really the first friend I've ever had.

Flash then looks at her dearly, then puts a hand on Twilight's shoulder and runs it down her arm in a comforting manner.

Flash: I shouldn't be saying this, but I'll be cheering you on even if you are from a rival team. Good luck out there.

Twilight then waves at him as he leaves. Then we head to the Tri-Cross Rally, again everything remains the same up until Sunset scolds Sci-Twi because, again with inspiration from Fire Pit, Flash joins the scene as well.

Sunset: You're suppost to be Smart, but did you ever take into consideration that maybe you shouldn't be messing around with things you don't understand?!

Sci-Twi: But I WANT to understand!

Sunset: But you DON'T! And worst of all, you put the lives of MY FRIENDS in danger!

Sci-Twi: on the verge of tears I-I'm sorry... I... I didn't mean to...

Flash: THAT'S ENOUGH SUNSET!!!

In comes Flash with a look of utter rage on his face. You know the face he made during the "Under Our Spell" song when he blasted away one of the bands? It's THAT face. He comes in with THAT look of utter rage in his eyes.

Flash: She didn't do this on purpose!

Sunset: You stay the heck out of this Flash! This is NONE of your dang business!

Flash: I'd say it is so because I've been helping her do this!

Sunset: YOU, WHAT!!!

Sunset then crabs Flash by his jacket.

Sunset: You don't have any experience with magic either, but UNLIKE HER, you KNOW how dangerous this stuff is!

Flash: I do, but you shouldn't be so hard on her for wanting to understand something she's interested in!

Sunset: I will if it ended up putting my friends in near danger to the point of nearly destroying them!

Sci-Twi then runs away crying. Flash then gets off of Sunset's grip and calls out for her, but it's too late.

Flash: Seriously Sunset?! You know that wasn't her fault!

Sunset: Don't you try to defend her Sentry, you're not her knight! You're nobody's hero!

Then, silence. Flash then clenches a fist and walks away with a sulking look on his face. But unknown to everyone, Sombra listened in on everything and now, he's formulating a plan. From there, we go to the Flag Rally, this is where Shining Armor comes in, he's not dressed as a Crystal Prep Alumni, but in an officer's uniform as some kind of security force, this will come into play later, we then go to a shot of Flash sitting in the first row of the bleachers with Micro Chips and Sandalwood, each one on either side of him, as he looks at Sci-Twi from time to time. We then cut over to Sci-Twi who's having a bit of a prep talk with Sombra along the lines of something kinda like this:

Sombra: Twilight, I know what that Sunset Girl did. Yelled at you for something WAY out of your control.

Sci-Twi: Y-you-

Sombra: Like I said. There's nothing that doesn't go by MY ears at least once. Don't listen to her. You're my star pupil, I know you wouldn't get yourself into something without knowing the consequences. I want you to unleash that magic Twilight.

Sci-Twi: Unleash the magic?!

Sombra: When you go out to the middle, open the spectrometer, unleash the magic in all its glory, show Canterlot High they messed with the wrong student!

Sci-Twi: I-I-I don't know! I-I-I don't think I can!

Sombra: Can? Or won't.

Sombra's sternness he puts in saying "won't" scares Twilight to no end.

Sci-Twi: O-o-o-o-o okay Headmaster Sombra...

Sombra: I knew you'd see things my way.

Sci-Twi then goes into the middle as does Sunset, and then Sci-Twi does it, she opens the Spectrometer. But unlike in the movie, here it moves on its own, as it was built up as doing throughout the movie, and is looking to merge the magic with Sci-Twi, that instant, Flash gets up and runs to push Sci-Twi out of the way, but as a result takes the full assault of the the spectrometer. Flash's body begins to change as the magic starts getting absorbed through his body, he starts changing into a demonic looking form and in a flash, no pun intended, Flash's body has turned into that of a demon.

Now I know what your thinking, "WHY DOES FLASH BECOME THE DEMON?! WHY NOT SOMBRA OR SCI-TWI?! THAT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE!!!" First of all, Sombra doesn't make any sense because in Equestria his "demon form" is f**king smoke. Smoke isn't scary. Second of all, Sci-Twi SHOULDN'T have become demonic at all, there's NOTHING to build on for Sci-Twi to warrant it! But Flash? He's another story. Flash has been the middle man this whole story, over the course of three movies he's had to sit on the sidelines either mind controlled, having his personality forcefully changed, or as of this movie stuck in the middle of two people with different ideas about Magic. I can imagine, he's got some anger he wants to lash out to warrant it. Think about Sunset's transformation, it was warranted because she let her anger and obsession over power corrupt her, with Flash it was warranted because he let his anger over being stuck on the sidelines not able to help because of magic get ahold of him. And to emphasize this, once more inspiration from Fire Pit, this scene happens:

Burst Frenzy: I knew I was meant for something far greater! What do you think now? WHO’S AVERAGE NOW??

Flash, like Midnight Sparkle in the movie, then goes on a frenzy unleashing his magic. Students are panicking left and right trying to escape, but Burst Frenzy stops them at every chance. Flash goes crazier and crazier to the point where some students almost fall into these giant cracks containing a pit of lava at the bottom. Sci-Twi is horrified about all of it. She never wanted this to happen, but because she listend to Sombra, Flash has gone crazy.

Sombra: This is all your fault!

Sci-Twi: S-Sombra?!

Sombra: If it hadn’t been for your ridiculous experiments, none of this would’ve happened!

Sci-Twi: B-b--but you-

Burst Frenzy then appears between them, looking Sombra dead in the eyes.

Burst Frenzy: LEAVE, HER, ALONE!!!

Sombra then runs away into the arms of Shining Armor who starts putting cuffs on him.

Sombra: WHAT THE HECK DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?!

Shining Armor: Cadence told me everything you blackmailing, manipulative freak! Tell Twilight the truth! You never had any plans on sending her to Everton at all, did you?!

Sombra: And if I don't?!

Shining then raises a fist.

Shining Armor: We can do this the easy way, or the hard way.

Sombra: FINE!!! I did use Everton as blackmail to manipulate her into going to the Friendship Games! You think I care about some kid's dreams?! Nobody will cry for her when she's gone!!!

BOOM! If THAT isn't instant villain for life heel heat I don't know WHAT is. Burst Frenzy then lands in front of Sci-Twi, asks her if she is alright, then says, "Don't worry. I will never hurt you." Because Flash can't bring himself to hurt her, she's just too close to him for Flash to bring harm to her, it's like Sci-Twi is Flash's anchor to reality. This is important for driving the FlashLight ship into the port of they're a thing. Somebody kill me for saying something stupid like that.

He then leans forward to Sci-Twi and scoops her up into his arms, carrying her as he takes off again, hovering above all the people and the buildings. Burst Frenzy then says, "And I will never let anyone hurt you ever again" and Sci-Twi stares in confusion. Burst has this look of like he is going to burn the entire block into a crisp at any given second. (credits again to Fire Pit for the next scene)

Burst: You will never be alone ever again. Not while I’m here, we’ll both run away from here, and we’ll never have to deal with all these stupid people again in our lives. They’ve belittled us long enough.

Sci-Twi: WHAT!? NO! Flash, you can’t do this, this isn’t you! Please, stop all of this!

Burst: Don't worry. It will all be over soon.

Burst then flies off to the main Canterlot High building’s rooftop and places Sci-Twi down in the center of it with Burst telling her to stay and that she would be safe as he then flies back down to continue his assault. Sci-Twi is in a panic, she needs to get down there and snap him out of it, luckily she finds a rooftop ladder and starts to climb down as Sunset tries to catch Burts's attention.

Sunset: Flash! Please! Snap out of this, this isn't you! This isn't the guitarist I know!

Burst: Oh! Sunset Shimmer! You were right. I have never been a hero!

Sunset: Flash, look, listen, what I said before-

Burst: SHUT UP!!! I'm the one with all the power now! Which means I can finally do THIS!!!

A red aura surrounds Sunset bringing her up to Flash as she starts to head higher and higher into the sky with no sign of possibly stopping.

Sunset: F-Flash, just try to listen to me!

Sunset is practically in tears, fearing this might be her end.

Sunset: I know how you feel, the same thing happened to me! When I put on the crown, I was overwhelmed with the magic it contained! Just like you, I felt powerful, like I could have anything I wanted…

But Burst doesn't listen and once she's high enough, she's let go. She starts falling as her friends try to catch her and they do, but with minor bumps and bruises.

Burst: mockingly Well, well, look at them. The heroic, magical Rainbooms! How very special they are! Tell me, girls. How does it feel like to be puny, defenseless, and pathetic for ONCE!?

Sci-Twi finally arrives back on the scene and finds her Spectrometer, tossing it to Sunset so they can transform, but they can't do it and Burst mocks them for it.

Burst: Without your precious powers, you feel the exact same way I did before: like NOTHING!!!

He then gets ready to throw a fireball at them, but Sci-Twi jumps in the way and doesn't do it.

Burst: Twilight, what do you think you’re doing!? I could've destroyed you!

Sci-Twi: I’m not going to let you harm them!

Burst: Back, of Twilight! I don't wanna hurt you!

Sci-Twi: I know you don't, but you don't want to hurt anyone else either...

Burst is taken aback and he looks around at the destruction he has caused. The frustration in his expression was replaced with confused surprised. He stares at Twilight with wide eyes, not sure of what to say but she keeps smiling at him reassuringly so that he won't lose his cool. She slowly takes out her spectrometer, Burst stiffening at the sight of it and looking at it with understandable distrust. Sci-Twi assures Burst, it was all going to be okay and offers a hand.

Burst: You want me to be just like everyone else? Feeble? Dull? Just like before? Y... you don't like me like this?

Sci-Twi: Not if you’re going to hurt others and cause all this damage. Flash, it-it doesn’t matter to me how strong and powerful you are. You don’t need any of those things for me to like you. I like you because… because you're the kindest boy I've ever met in my entire life...

Sci-Twi is now bursting into tears.

Sci-Twi: When I got here, everyone was so nice to me because they thought I was someone else. But when they realized I wasn’t who they thought, you were the first one to be kind to me, for me. You were so selfless and nice and pleasant... all in all, you were the best guy I’ve ever encountered in my life... That’s what makes you special, Flash. That’s what makes you unique. Your heart of gold.

Burst: But.... but the Rainbooms...

Sci-Twi: They may do incredible things, Flash, but that doesn’t make you any less valuable than them. You’re actually more similar to them than you think. Just like you, all they want is to help others. It’s just that they do it in a different way...

Sci-Twi then gives them a smile as she looks at them, we get flashbacks of all the girls did to help her in some way before looking at Burst again.

Sci-Twi: And they're my friends too... I understand you, Flash. I get what it’s like to feel like you don’t belong or that you’re meant for something far better and being willing to do anything to achieve that. But sometimes… It’s not your surroundings that you have to change to be happy. You just have to change your point of view.

Now it's Burst whose in tears as he looks around at all the fear in the students' eyes.

Burst: But... but if I give all this up... I'll... I'll be a nobody all over again...

Sci-Twi then hugs Burst.

Sci-Twi: You're somebody to me...

Burst then returns the hug as Sci-Twi activates the Spectrometer. In another burst of light, Flash has turned to normal, a little battered and bruised but normal. Flash then apologizes and as Sunset said in the movie, "And going by my own experiences, they’ll forgive you.” We cut to Sombra being taken away in a police car come sundown and everyone declared winners of the Friendship Games. Then we get to this scene:

Flash: Guess this is it huh? Are you still heading off to Everton after all this?

Sci-Twi: I've been thinking Flash, and maybe now's not the time to apply.

Flash: But, isn't that your dream? You've always wanted to go there haven't you?

Sci-Twi: I may know a lot of things, but there's still some things I've yet to learn.

Flash: I'm not quite sure of what you're getting at...

Sci-Twi then laughs a bit before pulling herself together.

Sci-Twi: I wanted it to be a surprise, but I guess you're just hopeless unless I spell it out for you~

Flash: A-am not!

Flash is blushing hard.

Sci-Twi: I'm transfering over to Canterlot High.

Flash: W-what?! Come on, you didn't need to do that, what about Crystal Prep?!

Sci-Twi: There's more I can learn here than I ever could back there.

Flash: L-like what.

Sci-Twi: How would you like to come over to my house on Saturday?

Flash: Um, uh, uh, as in, this Saturday, Saturday?

Sci-Twi: Hahahaha! Y-y-ye-he-hes you beetroot! Hahaha!

Flash is then splashed with water by one of his bandmates to calm him down.

Flash: Thank you, Drum Roll... I needed that...

Sci-Twi then begins to laugh even harder as does Drum Roll and his other bandmate Ringo.

Flash: Well, uh, sure. I'm free this Saturday.

Shining then gives Sci-Twi a honk for he's ready to take her home and the duo says their farewells. Flash is then approached by Sunset.

Sunset: Looks like you finally got with Twilight after all. It's-

Flash: Not the Twilight I know. I know. But, honestly, I'm starting to think it would've never really worked out.

Sunset: You know what I realized? Even though the incident was, well, horrible, it all happened because you sacrificed yourself for Twilight. You didn’t know what was going to happen, and yet, you took the blow for her and everyone else. Guess I was wrong. You are a hero.

Flash: You really think so?

Sunset: I do.

We then end with a camera flash and to a picture of Sci-Twi and Flash holding hands in the hallways. As the credits play "Right There in Front of Me" the song is now a duet between Flash and Sci-Twi.

And that is how I would've done Equestria Girls: Friendship Games, everthing has now been tied up in a nice little bow. Flash finally got the character development he should've had in the movie, the FlashLight romance finally has some closure, and now the future is looking brighter for the series. Do you agree with the way I did It, do you think I just copied from Fire Pit because it fixes the movie more than any one woman with ADHD and Aspergers ever could? Let me know in the comments below. I'm Tina Arnold, and I'll see you next time!

I like this. It's definitely a lot better than what actually happened.

And I honestly HATE Midnight Sparkle. Primarily because I could see what they were trying to do; draw a parallel between Sunset and Sci-Twi.

The problem is that Sunset Shimmer CHOSE to use the Element of Magic of her own free will.

Sci-Twi GAVE INTO PEER PRESSURE from Cinch, and we all know what happens then.

If the story had been set up to push Sci-Twi into making the choice of her own free will to unleash the magic, then it would be a much better parallel between her and Sunset. As it is the parallel doesn't work to well because Sunset's a reformed villain and Sci-Twi is the victim.

Then again after Sunset Shimmer was redeemed most of the villain redemptions were horribly handled. *cough* Starlight Glimmer and Tempest Shadow*cough*

WOW! It's such an honor to me that you think such highly of my fanfic, thank you so much! And well, Flash's demon form's name is suppossed to be "Fire Pit", but eh, I don't hate the name "Burst Frenzy". I just didn't mention the name "Fire Pit" on purpose because, well, no one called Sci-Twi's demon form "Midnight Sparkle" until the next movie.
Anyways, I only wrote this because it was my fantasy to 1) Make SciFlash canon because TIMBERLIGHT SHOULD NEVER HAVE HAPPENED, and 2) Give my Flashy a bit more spotlight, but I never thought that so many people would think that it fixed other problems of the movie as well :twilightsheepish:
I admit, I don't dislike the original "Friendship Games" as most people did (I'm probably biased because it introduced my favorite character and my favorite alas non-canonical ship), but I think I do prefer this version better (and I'm probably even MORE biased, but what can you do :derpytongue2:) Also, love your idea of making Sombra the headmaster instead of Cinch! It really does fix soooooo many things.

Once again, thank you for shouting out my fic! I worked really hard on it for nearly a month, so it fills me with so much joy to see it get such a positive reaction :raritystarry:

Okay, I doubt Sci-Twi/Flash would be that great a couple.

Like come on, what about giving the Sci-Twi/Sunset ship some love too? You are aware of the close bond they share?

And if the Shadowbolts aren't existing, who are the bullies that Sci-Twi faces in Crystal Prep? And what would happen to Dance Magic?
