Sombra vs Hades

To all who are reading my story “Hercules/Discord AU” and are not very satisfied, to say the least, that I seem to be writing Sombra much like Hades from the original movie. The reason being is because I don’t know his personality. You see, I am not creative when it comes to making up my own storyline or my own characters. Even if I try to to I can’t. I don’t know why, but I’m more creative and gifted when it comes to re- using a storyline I’m familiar with and placing the MLP characters in it. These re used storylines for me include movies, dreams I may have, inspiration from other fanfics I read, other tv shows, other misc stories I read, etc.

In order for me to write a character well, I have to know them and their personality well. With Sombra, it’s difficult, because I don’t know what his personality is. No one does. We only see him twice very briefly in the show. Other than the one word he spoke in the season 3 premiere (is that right? “The Crystal Empire part 1&2) I don’t have any real clue about him.

With Hades, I know him very well. So it’s easier for me to write Sombra as the person he is playing. I agree that, despite his lack appearance and role in the show, he does not seem to be that same fun and sarcastic guy that Hades was.

However, I am going to try my very hardest not to make him 100% (the guy who voiced Hades. I know him, but I can’t remember his name off the top of my head) I will try to add components to Sombra’s character so he doesn’t seem like an exact copy. I know in the beginning I made him sound a lot like the original, but I don’t think it’s so terrible. But I will keep trying to “make up” his character further along in the story.

So just for future notice, I am not being lazy with writing Sombra in this story. It’s just a very difficult challenge for me since I don’t know him or what he’s like. So please cut me some slack when it comes to how I write Sombra in this story.
