Back in March 2015, I purchased Borderlands 2 GOTY during a Steam sale for $8, having finally had my frustrated fill of vanilla Destiny.

Six months later, it dropped down to $8 again and I bought Brady a copy. I played it solo twice, and just now with his new gaming rig, are we finally playing it together. At the current total of 270 hours, it is probably one of the best deals I've gotten on Steam.

But right now, I'm glad I gave Gearbox Software just $16 instead of full price. Because their CEO can't seem to shut the fuck up.

Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford has so far taken to Twitter twice this year to bait, troll, and mislead enthusiastic fans of their best-selling franchise, making them think an announcement of Borderlands 3 would be following soon. He did it leading up to E3 in June, and he did it again leading up to The Game Awards last night.

Mr. Pitchford, I don't know why you think these tweets make you clever, or funny, because they don't. They make you an asshole.

Quite frankly, your company doesn't exactly have the best track record this decade. You inherited the greatest piece of vaporware the industry has ever seen with Duke Nukem Forever. Aliens Colonial Marines bombed. Battleborn was dead right out of the gate.

You may not be a one trick pony, but Borderlands is certainly the only trick you're doing well.

Maybe, just maybe, that's not a fanbase you want to piss off, because face it, it's one of the only ones you've got, you fucking douche.

All in all, I'm expecting Borderlands 3 to eventually launch, and be a relatively solid experience that will be severely hampered by microtransactions.

Nothing against Gearbox on that, I just have to remember that it's published by "Dear Belgians please write your government asking them to allow us to continue fucking you" 2K Games.
