So... How's it been, guys and girls? Though, I doubt there are many girls reading my fanfics. I personally only know one. That's more than I expected, but still... I don't seriously believe in gender stereotypes, but I honestly don't expect girls to read the stuff I write. Though, undoubtedly, some still will. Equality for all, I suppose.
Anyway, I can tell you how my own things are going. Remember when I said that I want to get out of Russia as soon as possible? Well, it didn't work. The requirements are decently high in countries I want to go to, and I don't want to be an illegal immigrant. The western world has enough problems with those. I could, of course, go back to college, finish it, then go for higher education, but there are multiple problems with that. First and foremost, as well as the most important, is the system of Russian education. It's shit. For the most part, it is simply repeating things until they are embedded in your memory. Long-enough for a test, at least. Discussions, individualism, thoughtfulness? It's not there. I know that plenty of people don't even get that sort of education, but I'm aiming for higher standards. Education of Finland is on point, for example. Hell, I think Scandinavian countries got it mostly right. But moving there... it's problematic. So, for now, I remain in Russia since it's still not a bad option in my situation. Is it good? Well, no. Russia is going into a shithole head-first, and this train isn't stopping anytime soon.
But I do have some good stuff. Thanks to my patrons, after saving up for some time, I'm finally able to afford a new PC! My 2008 mammoth is struggling when doing stuff like drawing or making music, so it's time I replace it with something new. So, my new system will have AMD Ryzen 5 2600x for CPU, Radeon RX580 as GPU, and 16GB of DDR4 RAM 3200MHz. I bought all the components I need aside from the GPU, which I'll buy closer to New Year. Why? Because I don't have enough money yet but I need a better CPU and RAM.
Speaking of writing, I barely managed to squeeze out ~3000 words this week. I don't really know why, all I know is that it seems I'm sort of stuck in all my stories. I have ideas, I have everything I need, but I simply can't write it down properly. This problem has been haunting me for quite some time now, but I hope I'll get rid of it eventually. Same with music.
Also, through your support (thanks to all 6 people supporting me on Patreon, by the way), I'll be able to afford stuff to create music with. I know you all want to read my stuff, but for that, I have everything. You know, keyboard and a PC. That's pretty easy to get, heh. But, as many of you might have noticed by now, I love adding stuff to my stories like music and drawings. While I don't necessarily need any real equipment, it tremendously helps. So, once I get all the parts for my new PC, I'll save up for a midi-keyboard, some good sound packs, and all of that. Can I pirate that? Of course. But the people making the soundpacks spent time and effort, well, making them. And I want to earn money off of those packs in the future, so legally, I have to own them. Having free stuff is great, but it's hurting people who made it.
Now, I will shamelessly say this - please, support me on Patreon. I could use some additional money. Of course, I could get a job, but there's a problem... First, it requires a schedule. I hate schedules. Second, it's mostly low-paying jobs for high stress. I know this probably sounds like whining to you, but I'd rather enjoy my job than hate every second of it.
Oh, and I probably haven't told you, but I actually technically have a job. Around January, through my friend, I managed to get into game development as soundtrack guy! Of course, this is indie game dev studio, which means different stuff. First of all, I'll be paid a certain percentage of the game's sales once it releases. But not before then, so... I'll have to wait. The team I'm in is pretty small and rather busy, so I don't really know when's the game coming out. But, if you want to know what studio I'm a part am, click here. To be honest, I'm not that much of a musical composer. I don't know much of music theory or anything, I just click on stuff until it sounds good to me. But this thing gives me an opportunity to become better and earn some money while doing it.
So, all in all, I suppose things are mostly fine. Russia's going down? Well, I'm going up... sorta.
Now if only the country was improving same as you. That'd be neat.

Thanks for writing at least those blogposts! may be you already said most of stuff you really wanted to say in stories (so far), and thus updating/continuing them become harder task...
On computers, yes, faster machine feels faster, and, in my case, cut run time for compiling/video encoding types of task dramatically. And I already can make slow machine out of fast machine (by manually lowering CPU frequency, and even disabling cores), but making 2x-4x- faster machine out of old one is not that simple!
I never dived deep enough in digital music creation, but may be there are some free (but with high enough quality) soundbanks? You always can use 'additional' money on helping someone..close for you, or far (geographically) from you.
I tend to agree with you on jobs, for some reason I heavy dislike idea of doing something I really don't like. So, I read tons of old technical and not so technical stuff and try to come up with some 'new' (for me, at least) ideas ..about how humans and non-humans think, feel, and so on .... I think I still hope to see one day much more accurate (with predicitive power!) set of ideas about how feeling and thinking beings in general interact and why they move this direction or that direction, and when and how one can tweak yourself or help someone else to avoid most awful traps.. But because I want it in most generic sense (applicable to real-world beings, like dolphins, apes, dogs, horses, humans...) and to imaginable (by us ...) beings too ... I hit tons of unknowns, so very unlikely to come up with anything.. worth writing about, even in blogpost.
