"A War" Will Continue · 11:12am Nov 16th, 2018
A War will continue. Sort of. Took me long enough.
I was planning to reveal it much later in the month, but I decided, "Why not now?" Well, one good reason to do announce it now is because it means moving the Earth-meets-Equestria fic way over to 2019 because I haven't really thought of something plot-worthy for that yet.
Anyway, the decision to end the story sounded pretty bad. However, taking some time away from it to write other stuff gave me some experience. I've finally (hopefully) fit into a writing pace that'd hit the balance of quality and quantity, which should be good for a project of this scale.
Also: Much later after the story's end, I've received some critique for the story. The main thrust of it was this: There were no protagonists in the traditional sense, so it was difficult to relate to anyone. I gave a bird's eye view of the Crystal War, which is nice on its own, but if I wanted to tell a gripping story, I need to stick to a select group of characters.
I was also focusing too much on stuff that wasn't relevant. Let's just say that it took me some time to really grasp the principle of Chekov's gun.
So, as I've said, A War will continue...but not as it is. Perhaps an epilogue chapter, but no.
The Sequel?
Instead, what I plan to do, if God is willing, is to make a sequel to it.
How would the sequel go? Start around the time of The Cutie Re-Mark, Part 1. Yes, we'll be dealing with Applejack meeting prime Twilight and Spike and what happens after that.
And after that? He-he. That's saved for the story itself.
I can't tell you much about it. All I can tell you next is that I hope to publish the fic this December. If you bookmarked the fic somewhere, you'll see the sequel update when it comes.
Not much else, really. But, it's back. I hope that's a good thing.
