    Lordy, how time flies!

It has reached the real life date during which the beginning of MLP EG Forever takes place. It seems like not that long ago I started writing it, thinking this timeline was a long way off, yet here we are.

Mandatory Megadeth #6 · 2:12am Oct 12th, 2018

So I hope those of you following my story enjoyed last night's chapter. It definitely strayed from what/who I was used to writing; Pinkie and especially Sonata are characters that I haven't spent a lot of time with. Before writing this chapter, I watched some 'best of Sonata' videos on YouTube to try to get a feel for her and some of her expressions, and I was quite surprised to find that ALL of her dialogue time adds up to barely two minutes. I could've sworn she had more than that, but whatever.

Anyway, somebody commented that Fluttershy should have hung a sock on the doorknob, which would have avoided the whole 'Sonata walking in on the "execution,"' but, as mentioned in my reply, there is no bedroom door, only the long hallway to her room. The only door in the house (other than the front door) is the bathroom door.

So, I was thinking about this after supper tonight, and I decided to draw up a quick floor plan of Fluttershy's house. Disclaimer: it sucks.

As it turns out, I couldn't make the hallway as song as I've been depicting it in the story – not without having extra space between the walls, which they don't do when building houses as it is not an efficient use of space. Still, it shows the layout clearly enough. Does this look the way you folks envisioned?

It should be of note that the whole reason I thought of drawing this is because I mentioned that the only door inside the house is the bathroom door, and I just realized just now that I forgot to label the fucking thing. (it's the shark-fin looking thing in the bedroom, which indicates which way the door swings)

This next image is the same house, except I've placed an 'X' on every spot where Fluttershy and Golden Arrow have fucked.

:rainbowlaugh: Fuck! I didn't put any in the hall... Oh well.
BTW, if y'all are interested, I'd be willing to draw up more locations, like Rarity's townhouse or Sunset's apartment.

Anyway, one other thing before I move onto Megadeth. I'd like to take a moment to thank Hasbro for the AMAZING fap material they released last week, in which Rarity is wearing a full-bodied, skin-tight blood-flow diverter while giving bedroom eyes to the camera more than once. In terms of placating the adult fanbase, that video is pretty on-the-nose.
And, in typical fashion, the fandom has jumped on it – much to my delight – like this piece from Ponut Joe:

Good shit. God bless that guy.

OK, so... on to the music.

This Was My Life

This is another underrated one, in my opinion. Full of great riffs as always, and, in typical Dave fashion, extremely well-written lyrics. I'm honestly not sure what this one is actually about; I've heard it's about his feud with Metallica, or a bad relationship, or even being arrested and examined by a shrink. I've never honestly looked into it much myself; I'm not good at deciphering deep lyrical or poetic meanings – which basically means Shakespeare might as well be in Japanese, as far as I'm concerned.

I do, however, love this part:

In our life, there is IF
In our beliefs, there is LIE
In our business, there is SIN
In our bodies, there is DIE

This is a fucking brilliant passage, if you ask me. Well done, Dave. Well done.

Anyway, enough with this bullshit; just listen to the song and see what you think!

Oh geez, I never picked up on the significance of the "if/lie/sin/die" part! I always felt This Was My Life was nothing more than the almost-mellow song that got shoehorned in between the manic burner of Sweating Bullets and the surprisingly poignant title track. Its greatest strength was that it maintained the album's energy and listenability by providing a bit of "relief" between those two. But that's actually some next-level lyrical cleverness, now that I see it!

In other news, The Other Side was definitely not what I expected. :rainbowderp: Though I suppose a bit of controversy might not be a bad thing for the franchise at this point, given that the smart money seems to be on MLP S9 being the end of the line. Can EqG continue without the main show? Will Hasbro even try? It certainly doesn't seem like they're letting up the gas on EqG content, and clearly they're willing to work with alternate clothing designs and such if it helps keep the youths of today on board...

TWML was like ‘Architecture of Aggression’ for me in that it was one of those tracks that I always skipped over, and it wasn’t until later in life that learned to appreciate it. It’s not a favourite of mine, by any means, but it’s still a damn good one.

I kinda hope they continue with EqG after FiM is done, but I also hope they maintain quality. It feels to me like it’s dipped since the first trilogy, especially ‘Rollercoaster Of Friendship.’ That one just felt so tacked-on.
I thought it was just my imagination until my daughter was watching ‘Rainbow Rocks’ and ‘Friendship Games’ a few weeks back, and re-watching them kind of confirmed that they’re a lot better than the recent stuff—the songs especially. (Under Our Spell, I’m looking at you; that montage of the Battle of the Bands is friggin brilliant. ACADECA is good, too)

As far as FiM goes, the last one I saw was ‘Grannies Gone Wild’ so I’ve got some catching up to do for sure.

Yeah, for me the EqG movies are kinda like how Star Trek movies used to be: even ones good, odd ones iffy. And the contrast couldn't be clearer than with Forgotten Friendship and Rollercoaster Of Friendship. I missed Rollercoaster when it came out because we were moving, and I went to catch up on it now that it's on Netflix... and I got maybe 15 minutes in before losing interest. But then one of my kids fired-up Forgotten this morning, and I got totally sucked in.

Rainbow Rocks, though? That's the shiznit, yo. :coolphoto:

Hm, I never thought of it that way, but I would agree the ‘The Wrath Of Khan’ = ‘Rainbow Rocks’ in terms of being the awesome second one.
Damn, I haven’t seen ‘Star Trek II’ in a dog’s age; I should watch it sometime. That movie, after having the franchise’s tone set by the original series and then the first film, just comes right out with an unprecedented level of ballziness that I don’t think has been matched by the franchise, even to this day. I don’t think the new Star Trek movies even come close to ‘Wrath of Khan,’ especially the second and third ones. (I actually liked the first one though, but it sorely lacked a young, hot Kirstie Alley)

‘Forgotten Friendship’ was decent, but didn’t really blow me away. ‘Rollercoaster’ was... well, basically like the rejected version of ‘Mirror Magic.’ Hopefully the next one where they go to Equestria and become ponies will be better.

I can always fall back on Ponut Joe art in the meantime.:pinkiehappy:
