I must be doing something right. Deer Me: Black sNow is on EqD now

In between my working irl and on my book, I sent Deer Me: Black snow to EqD. It was accepted and placed on the front page (although I don't know the significance of that). Two stories on there. Has my writing really improved that much?

Yes, the Deer Me series is well-written, but it's also a good concept.

It is essentially a HiE without too much focus on the human background. (In my opinion the good HiE is the one that focuses on the outsider's perspective rather than the human „self-fellating” we so often see) That said, it would have been interesting to read more about him adjusting to his new self.

It sticks to the original fantasy theme that we loved MLP for, and adds a lot of it's own to the world.

I love that I haven't seen anything related to EqG in the story. That is very important to me, but that's just a personal preference.

There are two very minor things that bug me, though: Characters sometimes (very rarely) act in a way that is not logical from their perspective. It would be nice if minor characters would be a little more alive as well, even if they only appear once.

The second one is just something that's been for the most part missing from Fimfiction these last few years: Ponies. Yes I am serious. The lack of focus on equine movements, pony societal norms, etc. Ponyisms. If you continue the series and a certain deer king just so happens to travel to equestria, that would be the perfect opportunity...

I was actually planning that for the third story. The reason I didn't do it for these two is because I wanted to focus on a new part of the world rather than just ponies again.

I'll take these thoughts into account in the future.
