My True Paranormal Experiences: The Mall From An Alternate Reality

I visited The Fiesta Mall in Tempe, Arizona during the month of November in 2017 just to see what the mall was like. When I entered the mall, I saw that most of the shops were closed. There was one security guard standing behind a desk positioned by the front entrance. I walked along the first story of the mall. There were only five stores open; Sears, Dillard's Clearance Center, Bath and Body Works, a massage parlor of some kind, and JCPenney. One the top floor, every store (and even the food court) was closed. The only shop open was a single barber shop near the top, front entrance of the stairs.

This seemed really odd to me so I went back down to the first floor. I walked inside the Sears and I asked a lady at the cash register what was going on. She told me that the mall slowly closing all of the stores to get ready for a large remodeling project. She said that all of the stores, save from the few I saw, would all be closed during the remodeling project but reassured me that the mall would open up again in January of 2018 after the remodeling project was done.

I visited all of the other open stores as well. Everyone I talked to at the other stores said the same thing. As I walked around the first and second floors of the mall, I saw that there were posters on the windows of each shop saying the mall would reopen after the remodeling project in January of 2018. They even had pictures of what the new mall would look like, including a detailed layout of the new mall which included a new food court on the second floor.

So when I went home, out of curiosity, I looked up news about the mall and the remodeling project. The news anchor on the video I found said that the mall was going to be turned into a medical school of some kind! Which means that it wouldn't open up again in a few months like the lady at Sears told me. It would be transformed into a medical school with no stores at all (except for maybe Sears and the Dillard's Clearance Center which both have a unique contract to stay in the space)!

Another thing that was really weird about the whole event is that my mom and I had been on the side of town a week before to get free muffins from Mimi's Cafe (as part of our adventure to get free food). And while we were there, we saw signs up by The Fiesta Mall that were advertising a Haunted House in the mall! This is what made me want to check out the mall in the first place. But as it turns out, when I went, there were no stores open save maybe five and according to the lady at Sears the whole mall was being remodeled. So...what about the haunted house?? How could the people hosting the event run a haunted house out of a mall that pretty much had every store and food court shop closed??

Well anyway, the whole experience was really weird.

My mom and I went back to Mimi's Cafe for Thanksgiving Dinner a week later. When we were there, I checked out the mall again. This time, only four stores were open; Sears, Dillard's Clearance Center, Bath and Body Works, the same massage parlor from before. And guess what? There has never been a JCPenney at this mall! Is that a trip or what?? As in there has NEVER been a JCPenney in the mall to begin with. So essentially I went into a store in the mall which has never existed. I know for a fact that the JCPenney was definitely there. I know this because I picked up some bags from the store (I needed some extra ones for trash and the lady let me take them). I still have the bags.

I asked someone working at Sears if the mall was being remodeled and they laughed and said that the mall was going to be permanently shut down in a month of so. They told me that it was going to be turned into a medical school (like the news report said) and Sears and the Dillard's Clearance Center would be the only stores left because they have a unique situation where they own the buildings so they don't have to shut down with the rest of the mall.

When I heard the person tell me this, I could hardly believe it. But I knew that it had to be true because I had heard the same information reported on the news the week before.

Something weird is definitely going on in that area of town. I'm not sure what is going on, but I know that I somehow ended up going to a mall that is in an alternate reality.

It makes me wonder what would happen if I went back again. Would it be the same building? Or would it be a fully remodeled mall in an alternate dimension? If I return to the mall one of these days, I'll let you know.

4938003 I know right? It gives me chills every time I think about it.

Oh my....interesting...! I'm glad you are OK! :D

Maybe it was the AU in the mirror that EG villian had before she got reformed....maybe THAT's where the Mall came from.

P.S. Please write a story with Rarity having the same creepy experiences! :D

4938005 That would be an interesting plot for a fan fiction indeed. XD I will try to write it when I get some extra time.

Doesn’t seem odd at all.
The lady probably had some miscommunication in relaying the mall’s closure to you.
Note: there’s no mention of events or sales happening in 2019.
As for the JCPenney, perhaps you forgot since you found the happenings so strange and focused on that?

I don’t think it’s extra-dimensional.
That, or you experienced the Mandela effect.

4938022 It wasn't just the lady though. Everyone I talked to at the stores said the same thing. And there were posters on the windows of each shop saying the mall would reopen after the remodeling in January of 2018.

The JCPenney was definitely there. I know because I picked up some bags from the store (I needed some extra ones for trash and the lady let me take them). I still have the bags. 0_0

I'm not sure what went on. But it could be a type of Mandela Effect.

In any case, the whole situation was really odd.

Maybe the plans for the mall being remodeled changed after you went there?
And maybe the JCPenney was closed down the same day you went?

4938028 The plans to change the mall into a medical center had always been in effect. There were never any other plans. That is part of what makes it so weird.

And the thing about JCPenney is there was never a JCPenney in the mall to begin with. Like, there was never even a store there. So essentially I went into a store in the mall which has never existed.

Okay, now it’s starting to sound strange.
Is it weird that I wish an alternate dimension circumstance like that happened to me? It sounds cool and rare.
Are you sure it was the same exact mall? Why not vlog it?

4938032 It was definitely the same exact mall: The Fiesta Mall. My mom went with me the second time and it was always by Mimi's Cafe. The address was exactly the same as the first address I went to. There is only one Fiesta Mall so it couldn't have been mixed up with another mall or location.

Here is a news article about it being turned into a medical school: https://www.azcentral.com/story/news/local/mesa/2017/05/19/developer-buys-mesa-fiesta-mall-plans-makeover-into-health-education-campus/331598001/

That's not what the signs said when I went. They said it would be remodeled and reopened in January 2018! They even had pictures of what the new mall would look like.

If I ever go back to the mall, I will definitely do a vlog about it. It's an interesting occurrence for sure!

4938060 I am happy that you approve. :rainbowkiss:

I feel like you've told this story before 🤔

But still, kinda spooky

4938074 I reposted it with some new details and updates that I didn't include in the first one. :)

Sort of reminds me of the infinite IKEA creepypasta. :applejackunsure:

4938121 I've never read that story. But it sounds interesting. I will have to give it a read. :)

The experience I wrote in my blog really happened though. So it is a real scary story. XD

The Twilight Zone theme song starts playing around the area from an indeterminable source.

4938219 I can picture that happening. :')

4938638 It was definitely an interesting experience, for sure.

4938655
Can only imagine what it would have been like

4938675 It was very strange. And I get chills whenever I think about it.

4939063 I just passed by the Fiesta Mall (or what is left of it) again on Sunday and I got lost down a street after passing by it.

Something is definitely going on with that mall. <_<

4939762
Sounds like a place to steer clear of.

4939768 Yeah, it definitely gives off a creepy vibe. :L

4939773
No kidding. Twilight Zone style
