Summer Colds Are the Worst! · 3:34am Aug 22nd, 2018
I hope you've all been doing well the past few weeks. Sadly, I've been better. I woke up Monday morning two weeks ago with a scratchy sore throat, which quickly turned into a nasty respiratory virus that left me more than a little under the weather for the last two weeks. Finally, as of this week, I'm starting to feel more myself again. Still have a touch of a cough at times and still a little tired now and then, but finally getting things done. And thankfully, I can resume writing too.
Also, since I've started feeling better, I made some changes to my upstairs layout. While it may sound like fun to have an office for your computer, eh, it's kind of limiting. I've been so use to having my computer in my bedroom. That's why, when I did some reorganizing yesterday, I moved my computer back into my bedroom. There's more than enough room for it in here and I like having it back this way. If ever I need to rest or stop to brainstorm, my bed is here and all my ponies are too.
So far I really think this new set up is going to do wonders for me. And while my illness set me back (sigh, again), this week at work should allow me some extra time to make up some lost ground. My schedule is a little different the first two days. Which will allow me more time to write, Another bonus to my computer back in my room is this... When I first started on here, I worked night shift, like I do now. And back then, I used to be able to write for a little and then once my eyelids wouldn't stay open anymore, I'd just sack out. I'm going to see if I can do that again. I just know I felt more energized and accomplished when I could write a little every day, even if it was just to review what I wrote the day before and add 200-500 words to a story. So, here's hoping. I feel confident about this.

Hey at least it wasn't a summer flu. Those are much worse.
I dont get sick often so when I do im more extra sensitive to the sickness. Also i feel so much worse than I would think a different person would feel if their sick. Went like 4 years or something without being sick but that changed last december, stayed in bed for 6 days! thats the worst ive ever been sick. I dont think it was a normal sickness either, I believe it was a flu. I asked to be sick becuase its been too long but never again lol. My parents had the same thing, I recovered faster because im much younger than them lol. But 6 days? That was something I dont want to ever happen again.

I know, six days is terrible. I had this for the better part of two weeks and still have a little bit of a cough. I had a six day flu the other year. i wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. Nasty. Glad to hear you got better from yours.

I'm glad you are feeling better. I know how sickness works with work. It really is not fun to work while under the weather. My favorite thing to say during those times, mostly because it is true, is "I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired."
Also Jay, are you as excited as I am for the return of Steve Perry!!!? I already have my pre-order in for his new album!!! 69 years old and the man still has it!!!!
Edit: Ironically the day after I posted this comment, I got sick... Yaaaay...
