Okay, I'm here to discuss a touchy subject. Following horse news lately? No?

To quote the opening paragraph...
According to local news outlet The Ottawa Citizen, an Animator for My Little Pony and Littlest Pet Shop has been sentenced to 28 months in prison for possessing and sharing child pornography. Tom Wysom, 55, was arrested and found to be in possession of over 60,000 images of child porn, as well as 1625 videos. Ottawa police tracked his IP address when investigating a peer-to-peer network.
According to IMDB, Wysom was an animator and character builder for 26 episodes of My Little Pony and 23 episodes of Littlest Pet Shop between 2012 an 2015.
Now, before you let this get to any of you, and become afraid you're about to be lynched by the angry mobs of MLP haters if you even display your love for the show in all it's glory like I am with my current T-Shirt (Twilight dressed as this mad scientist) I have one thing to say.
Screw your fears. Seriously, do what I'm going to do and walk into your school or wherever wearing or carrying something MLP related as a way to say: "Screw this sicko and what he stands for!"
Dad has a saying, don't invite trouble. Basically, if you worry over something happening, it probably WILL happen. So really, even if by rare chance you get walked up to by some asshole saying you're a pedo or whatever, ignore them or do what I might do. Give 'em a smartass remark like say... "So you must know how to be one then if you call me one you must have dabbled in that yourself." (Thank you Malla!)
Seriously, it may happen, (And you can take comfort in the fact that once this guy lands in prison, he's probably going to get shanked as child abusers are not loved to understate things) but if it does you can also take comfort in the fact that most people, the sane ones probably wouldn't give a damn. Hell, MLP is seen as hip nowadays. A year or so back, walking around with my Scootaloo plushie, and I actually got complimented for it.
Seriously, I did.
These assholes, the ones who need an excuse to say: "Look at me for a minute, I'm highlighting a potential creepo!" they just want their five minutes of fame. That's all they want. Plus, who knows, maybe, just maybe they've got something to hide...

So, I had no idea this incident happened. It's dark and depressing and not a little scary. But the reality is, the fandom will move on. It's a shame that this will just bring more hate down on us, but I spent several years hiding that I was a brony and I'll be dammed if I let some jackass drag me back to that point.
The reality is, we need to continue to support our fandom in times like this. People need to let the world know that not everything MLP related is linked to this sick and twisted mentality. We are, as a whole, a community founded on camaraderie; we need to stand together through things like this with our heads held held high.

If there one thing I can't stand is the concept of "Guilt by association". It's just an excuse for horrible people to act horribly without consequence; or so they think.
The vile act this man as committed falls on him and him alone and should not impact in any way the MLP franchise nor people like us who like the franchise, or anything else he once associated with.
