Becoming Whole Chapter 12 Starting Question · 1:45am Jul 30th, 2018
So, to all of you out there who still pay attention to these update blogs, I am going to be frank:
I have not yet started on Chapter 12 of Becoming Whole.
The reasons for this are just a few things regarding work, life, the pursuit of happiness, and breaking the blank page curse. With how I ended the last chapter, continuing off from that exact spot does not seem proper. It was a realization for Chrysalis and a pretty big one at that. For the first time, she has a pony she can actually depend on and cares for deeply. Picking right back up with them from that moment would not be the best idea since it was so final and now comes my question to you all:
Should I jump to a new perspective for the start of this chapter, should I pick up from a small time jump, or should I go back and edit the ending to the last chapter to allow it to flow better without having to do one of the two prior options?
Either way, I will be starting to write the next chapter in a day or so, I just would like to get your feedback as this story is both mine and yours at heart. I write to not only fulfill my own creative desires but to also give you guys a memorable experience. I even made a chapter based off of a fan's reading mistake that they posted in the comments and it turned out to be a fun little side note in the story. I want more interaction like this and I hope this is the first step for it.
Finally, in the past I spoke of doing a VO for the chapters, but I wanted to wait for them to be finalized and edited to a T. Well, time is running out and I gotta land this plane some time. I will begin fully editing the previous chapters and then voicing over them when all is said and done. I plan to only write two or three more chapters for this story before moving on to my other neglected projects like A Work In Progress (so aptly named) and a few other stories I have had cooking for far too long.
The road is nearly over, and the more you voice your opinions, the more places we can go.
Honestly, I don't think her firm trust in Cad is anything new. Her explicit admission maybe, but I don't think it really creates a literary "stop" like you worry about. There are still a good number of questions to be answered and traumas to be worked through to keep the story and characters moving.
