A Season and a Half Left? · 9:25pm Jul 16th, 2018
This blog entry is a follow-up to: Two Years until the Equestrian Exodus: What we should do now and how we can go on from here
I'm sure you have seen Mike Vogel's tweet from last week. He implied in it what we heard from the leaks at the end of last year, that Season 9 is going to be the last one, by saying there is "a season and a half" left:

This isn't much and even if it means something, it is only a small indicator. But, what is peculiar about this, is, that this tweet was deleted by him again rather fast. He later replaced it with another one, saying that he doesn't even know if Season 9 is definitely going to be the last one, because he doesn't work for Hasbro anymore and Hasbro didn't tell him, and that one season and a half more is only what is currently confirmed:

It is unlikely he would remove a tweet like that by himself, especially with how secure he sounded in it, which indicates that he fully believes what got leaked. It was most likely Hasbro who approached him and asked him to remove the tweet again. This also becomes apparent by how much he suddenly used capital letters in the second tweet, on all words that are there to make clear that he doesn't know anything (NO IDEA, SHOULD, CONFIRMED).
I am not an expert in psychology, but this shows that he was suddenly very eager to dispell what he implied about Season 9 being the last one, which makes it look like he was prompted to do that. So, it's pretty clear that Hasbro asked him for this. But the question is, why would Hasbro do this?
The cat's out of the bag about Season 9 being the last one and the information has spread everywhere it could be spread, so there isn't much point for Hasbro anymore to try keeping everything under wraps. Yet it presumably tried to do exactly that, by letting this tweet getting removed.
Does this perhaps mean that the leaks about the G5 reboot are indeed fake, as some have theorized, and that Hasbro doesn't want that more false information gets spread around?
It's also interesting that Mike Vogel suddenly referred to what he said as a "rumor mill" in his second tweet, after he sounded so confident about everything in the first one. Mike Vogel is, even though he doesn't work for it anymore, very close to Hasbro as a former employee. So, maybe Hasbro told him that there are actually no plans for a reboot, when naming a reason why it wants the tweet removed, and this is why he was suddenly able to call it a "rumor"?
That's obviously not a foolproof confirmation that we will get more seasons after the 9th, but it is possible that this reaction from Hasbro means that everything about the reboot is fake, or, that it is simply not sure if it really wants to reboot yet, as I explained here.
It's not much, but there is a small glimmer of hope in these tweets.

Que sera sera. I've never taken the word of staff seriously, since it could be misinterpreted or contradictory. It's just something we have to wait on.

A Random Guy? Wow, there's a name I haven't seen for a long time!

I'm still trucking. I've been around, just quiet most of the time.
Guess we have to wait and See.
It's true FiM's contract is up after nine seasons, hence the confirmed season and a half. However, there is the option for renewal of the contract after that.

Right. There is definitely a certain thought from Hasbro to end MLP: FiM with Season 9, this is something we know since 2014 and Season 4. In the same way, as we found out afterwards that Season 3 was going to be the last season. But then Hasbro changed its mind and the show is blooming and growing ever since.
There's still a chance that Hasbro decides for more seasons. It's all depending on the toy sales of the Movie and Season 8 toys, really, so it's a good idea to support those sales right now.

I'm still trucking, too, even though last year made that very hard..... And eventually, Applebloom, Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle will also finally be able to go on their journey.
