Oh dear. (Taking a look back at my earliest blog posts) · 8:11am Jul 1st, 2018

Let's take a look back on my first ever blogpost.

Here's the timeline I'll try to follow in my fanfic http://www.fimfiction.net/story/284357/wielder-of-the-orb-of-magic-and-ponies.

Things marked with a * means that I've already done it. (By the way, there's no guarantee that each step is it's own chapter. Some may be multiple chapters, and others might be combined into a single one.)

1: Intro (obviously)*
2: Sammy and the group become friends with the Mane Six*
3: Introduction to the orb*
4: Going through the portal to the EQ world*
5: Random filler chapter*
6: Intro to villain/Cutscene of early weapons design for upcoming conflicts
7: Yet another changeling invasion
8: Charging up the orb
9: Space Travel
10: ... ?

The reason why 10 is marked with a question mark is because that's as far as I've planned it. I'll post another one later on when I have more ideas.

Past me. Nobody cares about the fanfic that you wrote crossing over with a cringey scifi/fantasy story you wrote months prior.

Eh, these days it's all or nothing. It's either written or forgotten by the next day before I can get it down. Also, steps? What, did past-me not know what a story arc was?

2: Sammy and the group become friends with the Mane Six*
3: Introduction to the orb*
4: Going through the portal to the EQ world*
5: Random filler chapter*

7: Yet another changeling invasion
8: Charging up the orb
9: Space Travel
10: ... ?

1: No. Not obviously.
2: Considering how I still remember writing the entire cast of characters in that story as spinoffs of parts of my own personality, technically this would count as wish-fulfillment self insertion.
3: Haha. Deeeeefinitely.
4: Please don't let this spread.
5: But why?
6: ...Cutscene... really?
7: Once again, the letter of the day is... Y!
8: Hoo boy. How 'bout we don't talk about that?
9: Completely and entirely unnecessary save for the fact that at the time, that was the only way it could've been sci-fi.
10: Guess what? Past-me was just as indecisive as I am now.

The reason why 10 is marked with a question mark is because that's as far as I've planned it. I'll post another one later on when I have more ideas.

Ha. You thought having a 10-point skeleton plot was planning? Hoo boy, you should see what I've got going behind the scenes for Pony-Me. Also, that second post still is yet to come.

My second post: "Sorry..."

School for me is getting close to the end of the trimester... I just have all these quizzes and tests to study for, but I MIGHT be able to post a new chapter tomorrow. Also, I'm planning out another fanfic.

Well, pour me some maple syrup and call me Canadian, 'cause I still apologize for the smallest of snafus out here in the real life.
And you say that you only might be able to post something simply because you've got tests and quizzes? Well, I'll have you know, I somehow managed to keep a somewhat-stable update schedule smack in the middle of AP Testing.

My third post: "New story!!!"

I just barely uploaded the first chapter of my new one-shot, "Of all things..." (http://www.fimfiction.net/story/298139/of-all-things) And basically, it's an alternate universe of my first fanfic, where instead of traveling to Equestria, Twilight is accidentally pulled into our universe by aspiring scientist Sammy, who instead uses the orb as a nearly unlimited power source for a machine. That's pretty much all I have for now...

Hey past-me, guess what? Writing a fanfic of your own fanfic is cringey. Also, you'll regret posting that story, and kill it off as soon as it got outside of your comfort zone.

To be fair though, to this day I'm still squeamish about writing anything that isn't rated-E.

Now, skipping ahead to something posted a year after these first few...
Post: "Oh God... THE FEELS."

So, if you've been listening to what I've been saying and/or throwing around on blogs and in groups, I've been working on a collab centered around a third world war, where practically everything is lost, and must be rebuilt from the bottom up.

To get into the mood, I checked out a book called "City of Savages", by Lee Kelly, from my school's library. And since I was the first to check the book out, (apparently the school got it just days before), I had noone to tell me if it was good or not.

So I read.

Fast forward to today, I've just finished reading it... and... just-- THE FEELS.

Warning: Spoilers
I mean, seriously. The two main characters, Sky and Phee, who are sisters, have lived pretty much their entire life in a PRISONER OF WAR CAMP. And Eventually, they find out the truth about the world around them. About the war, and how it's been over for years. And yet, they're still holed up in the camp. So they escape, and find this supposed 'paradise' of sorts, which in reality, is run by some guy who's pretty much lost it. they then discover that the frickin' WARDEN of the POW camp they fled from is actually their aunt, which explains why she's so forgiving to Sky and Phee. There's a minor clash between the 'Standard' guys, who run the supposed 'paradise', which ends in a heart-wrenching twist: The guy who ran the place steals Phee's gun, and uses it to kill Sky and Phee's mother. At the very end, they sail off into the ocean to start a new life, because there's no life left for them anymore.

Basically, this is one of the most feelsy stories I've read in months. :fluttercry:

First off, this story was part of the reason why I wrote Equestria Forever, which has long-since been labeled as "MLP Propaganda" by myself and a commentator from somewhere 'round here.

Second off, don't worry, past (moderately edgy at the time) me, you'll experience many, many more feelsy things in the future.

So yeah. 7th grade me didn't quite understand that nobody would read your blogs when you're a noob on the site. 8th grade me experienced a very short edge phase that resulted in my most popular story at the time being cannibalized by a propaganda piece. 9th grade me was damage control. 10th grade involved accidentally killing a friendship and remorse, combined with rolling daily internet outages, resulted in the creation of Pony-Me.

I'd say that I'm doing pretty well.
