so, to claim the title of captain obvious, I haven't been uploading lately. between Walmart's crap of switching my schedule around to a point that I've been rather dysfunctional, and a bit of writers block on the mystic cipher, I haven't known where to take the story. I think I'm going to delete my first two stories as their short and forgettable. as for the mystic cipher, I've somewhat written myself into a corner... again. Originally I was going to make Celestia a little paranoid, and Twilight just a little devout to her, but one thing led to another and I ended up with irrational psychopaths. currently it's my longest running fic, but it's a dead end one, at least in my eyes. this doesn't mean I want to stop writing, it just means I need something fresh.
so to get back into the groove of making content, I'm cutting my attachment to the mystic cipher and starting a new story, this time however will be thought out before I get started. I'm currently in the process of developing everything to get it started. sorry for the ones who liked my previous fic, but at this rate they will never be finished anyways.

You know i still don't get why you didn't do your original you thought it was that easy story on fanfiction and just left a link for any who wanted to read it the guy who added to the rape group can't bother you their and people like me who liked the story can still read
It's alright I've seen other people rush in without thought and end up smashed like a noob in a game. I think your doing a good thing and your going to be great. Wal-Mart hours suck every one knows and agrees unless your one of those ass-kissers.
That's fine. I'd rather lose this one story than lose you entirely. Honestly, part of me sees this as a good thing due to how you were essentially writing yourself into a corner in Mystic and thus would inevitably ruin it. If you do decide to rewrite Mystic or something similar to it, my favorite parts of it were the concept of the protagonist having total control of his body and essentially being able to evolve himself with the use of philosopher stone. I also liked Celestia and Luna the most out of all the characters, at least until you wrote yourself into a corner with Celestia.
As for things I didn't really like, I've never really been a fan of crapsack Equestrias when the reason it's a crapsack is because of the princesses. This essentially extends to anything that makes the princesses the villains. It should be noted, however, that I also don't like them when they're infallible or perfect. In fact, that just makes me want them to lose, which I normally hate. The key is striking a balance between having an endearing character with having them imperfect. This also holds true for the main 6 who I also like and don't really enjoy having be figurative punching bags, like Twilight was in Mystic.
I also didn't really enjoy it when the focus was taken away from Equestria and its characters. As for the few Equestria characters that remained, they were essentially backgrounded characters, except for Trixie who just isn't a character I like to see much of. Less is more when it comes to her. I've also never really enjoyed OC characters, other than the protagonist, being prominent characters in a fic. I prefer canon characters that I already know and love being placed in new situations, so while I like changelings; I didn't care for your changeling OC too much. Chrysalis would've been my preferred changeling. Zangetsu is an exception to all of this as he only interacted with the protagonist and was interesting enough as a character that I enjoyed him.
These are just my own personal opinions, so take from them what you will. I feel that I should mention again, however, that I really enjoyed the premise of this story with your OC gaining the ability to essentially evolve himself with philosopher stone.

I'll try to keep all that in mind. and the philosopher's stone will be a big thing in most of my fic's from here on out as it serves as a great tool for human magic without really pulling a random way he is suddenly able to use magic, like him being "the chosen one" or "he's really a reality warping super god raised as a human" or some other bull. my biggest issue was finding a cap for it.
for example, if the elements were a 1000, discord was a 800 and the princesses were each a 100, where should i cap the max potential with the stone? i know I'd want it below discord simply cuz he is the avatar of chaos and a literal force of nature, the princesses less so as they are more just really powerful mortals like a demi god or something. i don't want it so he could easily curb stomp both of them at the same time, but making it possible for him to at least stand his own against them is still a thing I'd want.
evolve wouldn't be a proper term for it, as biological evolution deals with population mechanics, not individuals. it's closer to how Lucy was able to control her body in that movie with Morgan freeman. A metamorphosis if you will.

If you want my advice as far power levels go, I'd say the philosopher stone should be at least as strong as the princesses so that he can stand equal to them, though, it would depend on how strong you make the princesses. Actually, in all honesty, if Discord, Harmony, and the princesses are your only power milestones, then you could get away with having the philosopher stone be equal in power to the princesses because I've always viewed Discord as a god of chaos, able to bend reality anyway he chooses that comparing him to any known measurements in terms of power would be futile. On the flip side, I've always viewed Harmony as his equal, not his superior, two sides of the same coin, as it were, both each other's polar opposite and weakness.
