Shadowmane PX-41

Just your average british lad. I write things for a living. It’s the strangest living you’ll ever find, second only to my inability to take myself off of the grid.

Q&A Time Again! · 1:22am Mar 22nd, 2018

Here we go, lads and lassies! Another round of Q&A, with me, Shadowmane PX-41 as your charming host, bank of knowledge, and question recipient.

Let's start things off, shall we?

First off, FourShadow asks:

1. Do you know the 1958 monster film, the Blob?

2. I think you may like MST3K. Here's just a short that should sum up what the show is about, and I think its worth a look. The stuff that they have to sit through, and the stuff that they riff on is just amazing.

"How did you get in this picture?"

My agent told me.

... oh my god, that's not a question. Stupid, stupid!:facehoof:

3. Boop.:rainbowkiss::rainbowwild:

4. Is there anything you want to see in an Equestria Girls short? And or episode-long EG special? Like an idea you would like to see happen? Like maybe some characters explored more, and stuff in their lives that would make an interesting episode to be about?

5. Do you have any interest to see Ready Player One?

6. Is there a movie or a show you'd like me to try and review, if I have the time?

1: No, but I know the creature and how it was defeated. It was frozen and shattered. How do I know this? A short-lived USA gameshow called Exit, based off of the Japanese gameshow, Dero, was all about lethal situations where the special effects had you believe people actually physically DIED on camera. Falling into a dark abyss from falling off a shrinking beam, encased in absolute zero temperatures by an ice bomb, pulled into a SHREDDER, crushed alive, drowned in quicksand, the list goes on and on.

But yeah, in the Ice Bomb room, one of the slots on the wall had a bunch of movie monsters, and the teams had to guess how they were defeated. The Blob was frozen.

2: Eh, I can take it or leave it at times.

3: giggles like a kid

4: I would like to see something similar to an idea for a fic that I once had, with a mysterious group siphoning power off of the CHS portal, then using it to infuse other people in their group with magic, all with the goal of ending the Modern Age and bringing in what they called the Magic Age; with Sunset and the gang suspicious at first, then trying to stop it as they know that a world where everyone has magic and pony appendages would only end in disaster.

5: OMG. YES. Video game celebration movies like it and Wreck-It Ralph are INCREDIBLE. No doubt about it.

6: There's a number of shows and movies I'd like you to try and review sometimes. If anything... I'd settle on all three iterations of the Powerpuff Girls. The original, the anime one, and then the 2016 reboot. Preferably in that order.

Next is Serenade Sketch, who says:

What genre of music do you like to listen to?

I think I answered this in the last Q&A I did. I said that I was a big fan of orchestra music with choirs, as well as dubstep, heavy metal, and a little bit of jazz on the side. Actually, now that I think about it, I never really showed my appreciation for jazz until now. Jazz just has a sweet and soothing vibe to it when it wants to, and can also be upbeat and funky too. It's kinda like an all-purpose style of music, in a way.

This next question was sent via Discord, and comes from The Bricklayer, who says:

What PR series do you most want to see?

Ooh, that's a tough question, Brick. If there is one series I kinda wanna see, I'm drawn towards the Ninja Storm/Steel series of Power Rangers; if only for my undying love of any and all things Japanese. Heck, I was a big fan of Power Rangers Samurai and Super Samurai, having watched every single one of those episodes when it did its' rounds.

In fact, I think that series was what got me into Power Rangers as a whole, really. The characters had a lot of development over the season, had their own struggles to contend with, and it never really felt like a one-ranger show or a mind-numbingly repetitive cycle of "monster threatens the humans after the big bad sends them, so the Power Rangers have to fix everything." And while we're on the subject of the Samurai series, can I just say that the Nighlok are my favourite villains so far for a live-action show like this? You've got the badass Deker trying to cut the Red Ranger down to size, the temptress Daiyu with a conflicted heart, the cunning Serrator who tried to pull everyone's strings in Super Samurai, the do-nothing but still observant Octoroo in the background, and then the big granddaddy of them all, Master Xandred; arguably the most intimidating and dangerous Power Rangers villain of all, from design, voice, and how easily he cleaves through the Rangers when he finally takes up the mantle near the end of the series.

But I'm getting sidetracked. I'd love to see Ninja Steel/Ninja Storm whenever I find myself the time. I am a Japan nut, as I've stated earlier.

Next is Knives, who asks:

1: If you could travel to any world wither it be video game world, anime world or any story world. Which world would it be?

2: Which weapon from video game, anime and stories would you want the most?

3: What is your favorite type of muffin?

4: Which would you rather be: Ninja or Pirate?

5: If you had the power to bring anyone back to life. Who would it be and why?

1: I would love to go to the Ratchet and Clank universe. I was raised on Ratchet and Clank when I got my hands on the PS2, and I've played a lot of their games. The only ones I haven't played yet are All 4 One, Q-Force, Nexus, and Secret Agent Clank for PSP. But seriously, all those guns, the cool spaceships, and just being a general badass in a dark and gritty world full of hostile life, it's my ultimate power fantasy.

2: If there's one weapon I would like to have the most, I would love my own Keyblade from the Kingdom Hearts series. The Keyblade has pulled off many feats, slain titanic enemies, saved worlds from darkness, and been the catalyst for all of the major events around the Kingdom Hearts universe. To wield that weapon myself would be a truly amazing thing...

3: Live-action muffin, silly!

4: Ninja. Definitely.

5: If I wanted to bring somebody back to life, I would love to bring back Bruce Forsyth. He was a legendary British entertainer who unfortunately passed away last year. Strictly Come Dancing had a massive memorial to him on the premiere of their 2017 series and everything. The original host of the UK iterations of an American gameshow called The Price is Right, along with hosting UK version of their show Card Sharks, named Play Your Cards Right here in the UK, Bruce was a natural entertainer. He then went on to do Strictly Come Dancing for a good few years, with Claudia Winkleman as his lovely assistant. In the last years of his life, he handed his place on Strictly to UK model, Tess Daly, and she and Claudia have been the faces of Strictly ever since, but still hold Brucie dear to their hearts.

And not just because he and Len Goodman are almost identical. Seriously, put a picture of Bruce next to one of Len from Dancing with the Stars. The resemblance is uncanny, I tell ya. Both in looks and voice.

And finally, Tropical Applejack says:

If not too personal of a question, what is your sexual orientation?

Also, who is best pony - background and mane?

My sexual orientation? Well, I am a boy. I'm about to turn 21 this year, and I've been a boy ever since I was born.

As for best pony? Mane has to be Fluttershy. Without a doubt. And my favourite background pony? Ooh... Tricky one, that. I'm gonna have to say Diamond Tiara now, as she's not been seen in MLP since Crusaders of the Lost Mark. It's kinda sad, really.

Well, that about takes care of that. Another Q&A is in the books. Remember, my door is always open for more questions, so if indeed you do have any, please be sure to ask me.

Huh, Ninja Steel and Ninja Storm eh? I'd recommend Ninja Storm first really, as it's complete and has better writing really.

By "sexual orientation," I kinda meant "sexuality." :twilightblush:
Still, thank you for your answers.

Thanks for answering.
