    BUGHORSE NEWS

Yes, I bring good news of Chrysalis story. I have finished the first draft of the next chapter and the editing team has already made a first pass on it. There's still a lot to do to polish it, but I'm hopeful that I can have it up and ready for your hungry eyes in one week. Keep a lookout!

    Life is Snow

No really, this isn't some vague metaphor. My life is literally snow right now. I'm drowning, send help.

    New year, new chapter

Hope everyone is having a great New Year's Eve (or if you're in a part of the world where it's already 2022, hope the new year's been treating you well so far). Good news: the next chapter of Paint the Sky is written, we just need to take it through a few rounds of edits and revisions before I'm ready to post it. It will probably go live at the usual time on Wednesday.

2018

Hi how are ya?

Real quick, I wanted to address a question that may be on your minds: Where the hell are the updates?! At the beginning of the year, I believe I said something like this:

First and foremost I intend to finish Gangs and Monsters, ideally while 2018 is still young.

After making that post, I blinked and suddenly it was March. Doesn't time just seem to fly when you have none to spare? Suffice to say, I had intended to at least have another chapter of GaM finished by now, but as you can tell by the lack of updates, that didn't happen. Make no mistake, I've managed to write an occasional scene here and there, but nothing substantial enough to show. Though my editor Brad has seen a little snippet of a scene I'm working on, so he can corroborate the fact that the story is indeed being worked on. It just... isn't going as fast as I would have liked it to be

A big part of that has been work eating up most of my time. Working 12 hours or more every day for months really doesn't leave time for much else, and on my every day off I've been traveling to and from Florida where my parents have bought a nice little place to retire (on the plus side, this has afforded me the opportunity to go to Universal Orlando for the first time since I was 9 years old, and boy lemme tell ya, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is dope).

And on top of everything else, GaM is far from the only project I have going on. In addition to the plethora of stories I'm already writing/slated to write for my friends at the Berylverse, we also have a brand new project coming up for the series that I can't say anything about yet, but suffice to say I've never written for anything like it before. My RL friends and I also started playing D&D, something I'd never done before but am thoroughly enjoying so far. For those curious, the character I'm playing is basically this guy:

(Maybe I'll post the novelization I wrote of one of our sessions at a later date, just for funsies)

But I digress, I did not make this blog so I can give you (and myself) excuses. Next week things at work should settle down and I should be more or less back on a regular schedule. Thus, I am giving myself a deadline: By the end of this month, there will be a new chapter of Gangs and Monsters. It may not come out until March 31, but one way or another it will come out!

Perhaps some time you could do a story about an Oubliettes & Ogres (pony equivalent of D&D) game using the Personalities of AH members for the characters. You know, Simple Earth Pony Geoff, Mogataur, Mad Umbrum Ryan, Muscular Flutterpony Jeremy, Gavin the Magically Inept Trottingham Unicorn (specialty for time magic), and Jack the Changeling Hive Builder.

If anything, I think Heroes and Halfwits (Rooster Teeth's D&D show) would be a lot of fun to crossover. I don't know how it would work exactly, but it would be fun!

I was just trying to match more to their game personalities (to which I will add Chaos Queen Lindsay as a Draconequus following my third rewatch of GTA5, Lindsay Wins), as I haven't had time to go through the H&H game. I know that the Transported To Equestria thing is common, but I think you'd be able to pull it off quite well, considering your brilliant portrayal of their personalities in G&M.
