Godzilla: Monster Planet · 6:00pm Jan 17th, 2018
While it does have some of the cliches of an anime these days (young hero leader, the leading lady wanting to be in the steps of Senpai), I must admit that this is better than what I anticipated. The animation is better from that of "Knights of Sidonia," though I still wish it just has the art style as "Transformers Prime," in which Polygon Pictures also provided the animation for. It's also interesting that, while there are aliens throughout the Godzilla franchise, they actually help humans as well to the point of attempting to create Mechagodzilla to no avail; even then the two alien races (which I will just call the Kilaaks and the Simians, cuz they are pretty damn similar) ponder, "if we kill Godzilla, what then?"
And thank God, they actually tried something new with Godzilla's roar, mixing up the Millennium Godzilla with the Tristar Godzilla and a series of low growls.
And now, the long wait for movie 2, where they will have to defeat another Godzilla...
Bigger
Fatter
and Stronger too.
PS. It may give me some ideas for one of my upcoming stories, but it won't involve my Monsterverse crossovers.
Good day.
